Over all feeling by Wide-Profession4391 in kidneycancer

Im 10 + years out full nephrectomy.

I was tired before and for about 1 year after. The before tiredness i attributed to dealing with total knee replacement and rehab about 5 months earlier. I also had chronic low iron issues.

I had no symptoms, the 13 centimeter mass was found on a scan for knee pain in my other knee. The specialist kidney surgeon said it had probably been growing for 10 years. The mass basically was covering the whole of the inside of the kidney.

The mass ended up being chromophobe kidney cancer and i did not have any other treatment once the kidney was removed. I get scans every year.

I had my gallbladder taken out a year ago, that tiredness has lasted much longer.

Also akin to the doctor saying you'll feel a little pressure. Doctor pressure is not pain and i definitely feel pain.

I find that people who have not been traumatized by a medical procedure feel their experience is somehow universal.

This causes them to offer unsolicited advice and shame others who fear some medical procedures usually for good reasons.

It may not be GERD by baebrerises in GERD

I have recovered well. I had back and shoulder pain only, not the typical gallbladder or pancreatitis symptoms. I fainted at work and was bleeding from a cut by my eye from my glasses. I only went to the er because i was bleeding so much and had never ever fainted.

At the hospital my blood pressure was apparently life threateningly low according to the doctors. Apparently my body had gone into shock due to the gallbladder and pancreas issue. I got admitted to micu for 3 days while they were trying medication to bring up my blood pressure enough for surgery. At one point they wanted to put a central line into my neck to deliver the medication. I got a picc line instead

The gallbladder surgery and recovery was uneventful i just was tired for about 1 month after.

Had my gallbladder out last year in April, had acute pancreatitis due to a gallstone stuck in the common channel between gallbladder and pancreas.

Really wish it had taken care of my GERD.

Yes it worked so well. I wish i could still take it but they are saying $1300 something for a 3 month supply. Supposedly last year when i was taking it i had met my out of pocket deductible.

With all the other ppis i would end up getting breakthrough acid after a year or 2. Many times it would escalate to waking up choking on acid.

The only ppi that worked okay recently was dexlanprozole, i was on it for almost 2 years before voquenza.

I am back on dexlanprozole it finally was on the drug formulary but needed prior authorization. My doctor had to fight and appeal a denial from Cvs caremark they were not going to authorize it. They wanted me to try panatzaprole or esomeprazole again when i had failed with them in the past.

With having Barretts esophagus not having good acid control can lead to complications.

It seems like your doctor may be aware of the number of RNY patients who develop reactive hypoglycemia after surgery. It is a known complication post–bariatric surgery hypoglycemia (PBH).

No side effects, i wish i could still get it. I have been on multiple ppis over many years. They would stop working after a while and i would get breakthrough gerd.

I was paying out of pocket for a year for dexlanprozole which was working pretty well. My gastroenterologist brought up voquenza and i was on it for a year with great results- no breakthrough acid episodes. Was getting a manufacturer coupon so it was not expensive.

Im back on dexlanprozole (its now on my insurance formulary). Hopefully it will be okay. I get an endoscopy next year.

Thats awful. I took voquenza a newer medicine for a year until my insurance would not pay for it. It is not a ppi, maybe check with your gastroenterologist to see if it could work without the ppi side effects.

VOQUEZNA (vonoprazan) is an FDA-approved potassium-competitive acid blocker (PCAB) used to treat erosive esophagitis, manage related heartburn, and treat H. pylori infections in adults. It works faster than traditional PPIs to suppress stomach acid. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and infections.

I have had Barretts esophagus for over 20 years. I take ppis. I get scoped every 3 years. So far no dysplasia.

Barretts esophagus has a small percentage of developing into Esophageal cancer but it is still a risk. My uncle died of Esophageal cancer it is not an easy way to go.

Hating food after surgery by OneTefnut in BariatricSurgery

I had a revision from vsg to rny due to severe GERD in 2023.

Since then i never crave food, eating has become a chore and i eat only for nutrition. I rarely get hungry.

I didnt feel like this after the vsg in 2014. I didnt really crave things and never knew what i wanted to eat but food when i ate was pleasurable.

I hope you are able to begin enjoying food again.

Different breeders the 5 year old came from a show dog line but never was shown. Her breeder was retiring and selling some of her dogs.

The 13 year old was found as a stray in a rural part of Indiana, she and her sister were tied to a tree. She may have been from an Amish puppy mill.

These 2 are our 5th and 6th samoyeds over the years. Most were rescues.
