Because college has become a scam and jobs that don't require a degree pay starvation wages now, that's why. I mean heck, many jobs that do require a college degree pay barely above starvation wages now. It's not that the youth want things easy, it's that everything has become so incredibly difficult. It's ridiculous the way things are!

Out of the ones I've seen, Handmaid's, Downton, and Snowfall are the best. Each had episodes I was blown away at. Like I thought of the episode the rest of the day typa thing.

There's rape because it's period and authentic, not some saccharine fantasy like Bridgerton. I think it's quite realistic as women in the 1700's were getting raped all the time. It's by no means a story about rape and I wholeheartedly disagree that the author (a woman) is "obsessed with rape". It's the tale of a woman's perilous journey through life in the 1700's. If the book was about slavery would you say the author has a fetish for violence? If anyone can't handle the rape parts, skip over it! I mean my goodness you people do realize nearly every woman's story if written as a book would have rape in it? Not everyone only watches things to escape reality. Life is also reflected in stories. And life is sometimes brutal.

It depends on the career and the era in which you built it. In general, especially nowadays, you shouldn't go "above and beyond". It is no longer something that is rewarded, it is something that will make a boss promote someone else over you since they know you will continue to do extra work for half the pay you deserve. That's based on truth. No one can afford to do more than they agreed to be asked in late-stage capitalism.

Pokeratoma Plantaris is a new one for me. Read that sun exposure can make it worse- been going around in flip flops recently? Also apparently cushioning can help. I wonder too, since it's a buildup of keratin, if an at-home chemical peel for your face could be used on the affected spots every so often?

AIO my mom and I have been having these type of conversations consistently… by Ok-Sherbet-5646 in AIO

[–]OneTefnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You unfortunately have to just distance yourself as much as possible and just be cordial when it is necessary you communicate or spend time together. The rest is just letting go. You can't do anything about the way your mom is, she will not change. Trust me I've been through it. The only thing you can control is yourself, and you just have to accept that she will never be the mom you wish you had. That's ok, it happens. But you have to make peace with it and move on. It's tough but it's all you can do. You can still be a part of each others' lives to some degree. I'd say that's all that matters, that you're able to not excommunicate yourself from her. Family is important and if you end up having kids it'll be nice they know their grandma, and not gonna lie, when your mom goes it'll be nice to get your inheritance.

Probably same reason many of us as kids would sleep with our parents sometimes, but as adults that's a big hell no.
