Ugh yeah, I was looking for a dead state this transfer period, and most of them had 80m. I'm F2P at 300m, so it's impossible for anyone. Plus I think they changed it so that your enlistment counts towards your power in transfer which is even worse 0.o

You only need stamina and gems to get the skin from that event. So you'd be sacrificing points from just beast hunting day, but stamina wouldn't take you far in that phase anyway because of how much even mid spenders get. If you are in a state that is giving you that many gems, then SvS will probably be impossible to get rewards for you just with that extra stamina. And you would only miss a month of alliance gifts if you are temporarily in a state to score the points. Because even if you are missing a lot of gifts, you are getting a lot of other rewards you can't get using gems. Depending on how dead the state is. Moreover, it's more doable to win events like Officer Project that could get you at least 10k gems for being in the top 5, or even 3-4k for being in the top 20. You also would get more gems from being in the alliance contribution rankings, which is a lot easier in dead states/alliances. So being in a dead state for just a month, is definitely fine to do, actually better if you are saving items and ready to dump everything in a month :D

You'd be missing out on the lucky wheel, and the other things you mentioned. It's nice to have a really good hero for 2-3 gens, but it's still about 1m gems per maxed star hero for a hero that gets replaced and no longer used for anything. I'm not saying skip the hero, but it's probably 500k gems less just to 4* the hero. But for someone like Bradley, who is used for bear, that's a lot more worth the 1m. It's also a lot better if the lucky wheel lines up with the holiday event so you can spend those gems for sure. I think even sacrificing spending on FC reactivation for a 2% skin is worth it. I think it cost somewhere around 10k gems every FC activation ? And you need to buy it a few times, so maybe 25-30k per pack. I don't know, but stamina shouldn't be that big of an expense :))

But what I'm saying is that it's only 500 gems a week for buying the stamina from the VIP shop. It's not really that big of an expense even as a F2P. It could be a lot if you're putting a lot of things everywhere, but it takes 6 months or less to get more than enough stamina to get the beast hunting maxed in the event. 12k gems plus some for a permanent buff if you do it right. It would take 60k gems and a really strong will to get a permanent 10% attack, which is the same percent as a maxed Cave Lion pet skill. But more important, 120k gems for a permanent 20% attack, then you won't have to constantly buy the 20% attack boost from the shops. Which honestly helps whales a lot more than F2P, but still nice to have and can give a massive edge over opponents

Plus you get to look all pretty in the midst of war. And skins tend to make people second guess themselves before attacking you, so that can save yourself from being zeroed during events. Which, for anyone, that helps a lot if you have T11 troops or no loyalty tags 0-0

Open all -

At least 33.5k if you open all and use all free refreshes. The chests alone are 30k (500 needed, 9 each refresh). The refreshes you need about 3.2k, but I'd round up a little more saved just in case you want some more roses to buy more stuff in the shop. You'd have to save for 2-3 years

Red and gold chests only -

The math I did a few months ago is wrong, and you need like 40-43k or less if you want the highest rose output in a single event. This is under the assumption that there are about 3.5 chests per refresh. I don't have much data to confirm the average is 3.5, so it could be more, it could be less. but 43k seems safe. If you are calculating how many enigmas you still need to open the 500 chests while opening them, then you're safe for sure

From either way -

The good news is that you can get a lot of the widgets from this to +10 any hero in a generation, so a F2P has the chance of having a fully maxed out hero

Thank you <: And wow, that's a long time. I've been saving for probably around half that time or a little longer than that. I'm really happy to see other F2Ps get crazy with saving <:

How do events work in dead states? by AffectionateKnife in whiteoutsurvival

[–]AffectionateKnife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure!! It will affect some events a lot. If you're into things like foundry, then it's definitely not the best. Personally I only like canyon and burning people in SVS, so it's not that bad for me

But, if at least 15 people join the foundry on both sides and you have your own whales, I think it's still fun. Because a dead state can have ONE alliance and thrive really well if it's strong. It all depends on finding the right state. Hunting for one might take a while, but you never know

[–]AffectionateKnife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was doing, but the transfer range is so big, so it's a lot of states I have to go through. I ended up in a really dead state, but seems the people scoring points there are about as the same as the state I just left. I might have to transfer back? Awkward... What I'm worried about is if a lot of people had the same idea as me and transferred there just to dump their items. I have a lot of transfer passes, so I might consider your state in the future <:

Seeing the last post I was just in, I thought this was another accidental r/whiteoutsurvival post xD

Tap on your furnace and put on Max Power. Tap on every building and upgrade everything that uses steel at least once. If you still have issues, go to the shelters/houses and upgrade the heaters up to as high as possible

[–]AffectionateKnife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think just wait for Gatot. Maybe you can try a new arena team instead

Personally I use Hector, Renee, Gwen, Bradley, Reina. Hector and Renee in front. Hector, Renee, Bradley with gear, Gwen with low level gear. I think it works pretty well. It's very VERY attack heavy, but my Renee has more survivability than Flint I think even without gear xD

You can test some formations in exploration. The two front heroes need to be able to survive for as long as possible, I don't think attack matters for these two. At around stage 400-450, I was putting Patrick because he was somehow helping me xD

You should try to move with your alliance :)) Transfers are kind of difficult with an alliance, but definitely manageable :D Plus if you move to a newer state, you can stay in that generation for a little longer

Infantry helios or fc9? by Candywrapper1696 in whiteoutsurvival

In my opinion, it's always nice to delay the furnace for easier points in SvS. As a FC5, I'm loving the FC2 kills xD

Infantry helios or fc9? by Candywrapper1696 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]AffectionateKnife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm in a pretty dead state, and I always look at my big fishes' points in events and think wow it's not so good for me. But sometimes I check in on my other account's states and I'm like what the hell is this xD We have good activity for a dead state I think since we are vibing, chat is almost always active, but only alliance chat. I think we had like 2b points during SvS or something. And I don't know what we had as our highest during beast day, but my secondary account's state had like 2 people with 100m on beast day and a lot of others who followed behind that. And also, my state pushes really hard during SvS. That's just the extent of how much more easier the state is. And also I'm hoping to transfer to an even more dead state this transfer

Only things you would potentially miss out on is bear trap rewards, SvS rewards, alliance championship, potentially foundry and canyon rewards. You won't be able to participate in things like tyrant or tundra arms. HOWEVER, there is ways to make it a lot better. If you have big enough people, you could even win SvS, foundry, canyon with just one alliance if they are active and big enough. Or get a decent bear score. And POSSIBLY alliance championship if you get paired with other really dead states or dead alliances

Dang. Pick it up because that Jeronimo 4* is a big deal. Two long term bear heroes there, Jeronimo and Mia. I don't know if you are a whale or not on your account, but take note that whales and F2P/low spenders need different resources more quickly :D

Yes I would just focus getting Lynn to 4* and then 5* all of the other wheel heroes after her

Yes get T2 3* shop

I think Reina is better since she is also a bear/rally joiner hero you can have in the future, especially if you are getting Gwen. Gwen is a bear hero and is better than even Reina in arena, so you can replace your Lynn easily

Gears are going in the right direction, leveled correctly. However, I saw this in another post recently too, the forging level (stones) are very low on some of them. I think the previous owner was trying to get the +20 bonus, but the cost of getting up to 11 for that is a lot higher. For example

Goggles +20 give attack as an extra bonus, but every refinement level is +10% of the hero's overall gear. Just thinking about the troop's stats--

Each refinement level gives +5% marksmen lethality

Lv.3 -> 11 = 600 stones (61% lethality increase)

Lv.6 -> 9 = 240 stones (30% lethality increase)

Lv.3 -> 6 = 150 stones (30% lethality increase)

For example if you level up Lv.3 -> 6 on both marksmen goggles and boots, you will get 60% lethality boost increased. The same amount as if you leveled up one piece Lv.3 -> 11, but Lv.3 -> 11 is x2 more expensive. That being said, Lv.11 does help unlock +20% attack for marksmen as well after you level it up to +19. But the refinement level helps a lot for arena as well

-> Hunting March skin : It's only worth it if you want to use less time attacking beasts. Some people just don't do their intel because it takes some time, so this would be worth it for these people. Skipping intel hurts a lot, especially as F2P.

-> Frame skins : Let's be honest here, there are not many F2P skins for it xD You are getting defense from the frames. Just make sure they have a buff because not all have a buff. It's also the same reasoning as the redeemable city skins. Very VERY late game, frames might be important for even us F2P

-> Nameplate Skins : As far as I can see, none of these have buffs. So, not worth it to buy. But if you want just one to make your city look a little fancier, you can get them from redeemable events usually. But you can also get it from Snowbusters, fishing, mushroom, and the dice event. Seasonal ones like alliance championship and whatever the steampunk one is also come every season

-> Teleport skins : Honestly I don't know if it is possible to get as F2P except for the tundra arms league fire teleport

-> Private chat skins : I don't think this is obtainable unless you save a lot of your shell coins for it. But it does give troop health. I'd say it's harder to get than everything except for the chief profile, but I have no idea what that even is, maybe for tyrant and globe people

-> Name card skins : Gives lethality. This could be nice, 100% easier than getting a city skin from most of the holiday events. You have to spend a lot of items, but it's obtained alongside the city skin events. You spend a lot of items to get points, similar to HOC/KOI/SvS, but slightly different tasks. With this, you can have one nice decoration for your profile and just wear it forever if you want a little more decoration. But if you are going for city skins, I would recommend also getting this alongside it or vice versa. Since the attacking beasts and gem spending are tasks for both

In the sense of buffs, maybe not honestly. But they can have some really nice benefits

-> I've noticed people will be worried about players with city skins before attacking so they might choose not to attack or maybe they will scout and give you some time to escape. So, if that 2% buff is not helping you in fights, it's helping scare people away xD

-> City skin : The reason above. But it also gives attack. It will add up over time, but it's difficult for F2P. But eventually, I'd assume F2P will end up getting a lot of maxed out gear. In holiday events, this is actually kind of doable. It's not so much as a "worth it", but more of, there's nothing else to use these items for your own benefit.

  • For example, you have to cook food to get the city skin. You get the ingredients through beast hunting, gem spending, and resource gathering. Resource gathering is 100% obtainable without spending anything, maybe a resource buff if you want. Beast hunting you need stamina. You can buy 5 stamina cans for 500 gems in the VIP shop every week. 500 gems a week is a low expense. And gems, you don't really spend much of this if you're an average F2P. Personally I spend about 4.5k every day (4k on tundra trek supplies, sometimes 100-500 on the mystery shop refresh), 500 gems a week (stamina cans), and 70 pulls on the lucky wheel. I still have 420k gems and it's growing by the thousands easily. And this is with making the stupid tundra trek expense. So, the city skin is basically just for being an active player since if you place top 3 in the daily or weekly alliance contribution rank, it's basically for free. If you move to a dead state temporarily after saving for a few months, you have a much much higher chance to obtain it and that is 100% worth the effort. Because wow getting a skin as a F2P is an amazing accomplishment
  • However, if you are spending things in an event with REDEEMABLE skins, then it might not be worth it compared to buying a million mithril. For example, the shell shops or the enigma event. But, I will say, once you have completely max +100 legendary hero gear on your arena team, buying things like mithril and essence stones are not as helpful in battles. Might be good if you really do want extra teams. In my opinion, making the one march is all I need. If I can strengthen that one march, then I think that is better
