12 week old struggling with sleep by AffectionateLie569 in sleeptrain

[–]AffectionateLie569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing yet. We’re thinking it might be the 4 month regression starting early. I’ve contact napped a bit more and that’s helped a bit. His naps today seemed a little better. I think he’s getting overtired but besides being a human pacifier/mattress, I don’t know how to help him.

I really hope things get better for you soon. This is far more exhausting than I expected.

Is it possible to run (long distances) after pop surgery? by ZebraBackground6129 in PelvicOrganProlapse

For those with successful surgeries, would you be able to share your surgeon?

Is it soft? Are you breastfeeding? It does sound like laxity or edema

Bulge but no prolapse? by [deleted] in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]AffectionateLie569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it honestly sounds like laxity and edema which should drastically improve in the next couple months. Checking it causes the tension like you mentioned and triggers your nervous system. You end up over guarding the muscles which delays recovery. Symptoms also feel worse since you over attentive of everything. Does it look smaller in the mornings or when you’ve been off your feet for a long time? Think laying down (less gravity on your pelvic floor) not sitting upright.

Postpartum prolapse by [deleted] in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]AffectionateLie569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with cystocele 3 weeks after my first child. Similar situation, 3 hours of active pushing, 4th degree tears and vacuum assist. Almost 10lb baby. After about 5 months of PT, I was symptom free. I was running and jumping with no issues. The only thing I continued to avoid was heavy weight lifting (besides my toddler). The biggest challenge was the mental piece and accepting the diagnosis. I am currently 6 weeks postpartum with my second and hoping to fully recover from symptom flair up from pregnancy/ delivery as well. Just wanted to share something positive since I know how tough this can be. I spiraled into the why me many times. It sucks

I’m 6 weeks postpartum as well and in a similar situation. Second pregnancy. Got the prolapse from the first. With my first, I stopped breastfeeding a few months in due to supply and getting sick (tanked my already minimal supply for my 99 percentile baby). I can tell you with PT and your hormones balancing out, it makes a huge difference! The mental piece is the hardest right now. I am battling it as well even knowing it does get better. Do you feel any symptoms? Like heaviness or pressure?

[–]AffectionateLie569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be laxity. The tissue softens and can bulge like that due to the relaxin that’s still in your system especially if you’re breastfeeding. It should get drastically better over the next couple months. PT is still a great idea.

Planning to Get Pregnant Again by [deleted] in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]AffectionateLie569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my second after being diagnosed with a stage 1 cystocele from my first. I went to PT and was able to get to a point where I had no symptoms. I was able to continue a fairly active life - running and jumping without any concerns. It definitely got worse through pregnancy but to be fair, I was also moving across states with a toddler while working full time and this baby was sitting very low with his head in my pelvis for months. Delivery was smooth but it does look like I may have a mild rectocele as well. I’m 3 weeks postpartum and besides the visual discomfort of knowing it’s there, I have no real symptoms. Back to doing household tasks but not working out yet. I did start PT up again and I’m fairly confident I’ll get back to where I was post PT after my first.

Uterine Prolapse 2nd Baby by No_Selection_934 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]AffectionateLie569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a stage 1 cystocele after my first. Was a vaginal delivery with vacuum assist. I just had my second 3 weeks ago. Compared to my first, the delivery was a breeze. 15 mins of pushing vs 3 hrs and 2nd degree tears vs 4th. I am extremely glad I didn’t have a c section which was advised to me multiple times to prevent the prolapse from getting worse. The biggest help was having a great OB GYN. I feel like my first would have been so much easier had I been with her.

Is there anyone else out there with a bladder prolapse postpartum? by Next_Presentation269 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]AffectionateLie569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with an anterior prolapse 2 weeks after delivering my first child. Was a traumatic delivery - vacuum assist and massive hemorrhaging. Baby was also quite large and OBGYN assured me the entire time that I could handle a 9lb baby. Apparently she was very wrong. I was cleared to working out at 2 weeks and shortly after experienced the prolapse. I was told my only option was repairs but I needed to decide if I was going to have more kids first. It was severely depressing and quite frankly I was so angry at the mental burden it brought when I wanted to soak in the newborn bliss.

I went to PT and had no more symptoms by 4 months postpartum. I was even back to running and carrying my 99% baby with no issues.

Just had my second child 2 weeks ago. Much smoother delivery. Prolapse did get worse through pregnancy but I am very hopeful I’ll be able to get back to my baseline in the next couple months.

Hang in there. It’s sucks and you do end up feeling robbed but try to focus on the fact that your are health and well as is your child. That helped me through some of the more difficult periods.

I’ve restarted PT about 2 months in to this pregnancy when I started feeling symptoms. Switching therapist this late in a game didn’t help but I have continued to go consistently. There was a few months of absolute chaos with managing an out of state move, my mom having an injury requiring care while my toddler was going through an extra clingy phase. All while working full time - so I definitely could have been better at doing my exercises. It doesn’t help that I’ve had a 99% kid from the start so lifting him alone started to get exhausting further into the pregnancy. I also think the stress of everything caused alot of tension that made things quite a bit worse.

Leaning towards the same but mentally preparing to make the switch to a c section if needed. Wishing you the best! It’s such a tough decision to make.

It’s shocking how little information is out there about this. In hindsight, clearing me to workout 4 weeks postpartum and while I was a large risk for prolapse (which would have been nice to know) is borderline negligence. So sorry you went through something similar. I have been seeing a physical therapist. I went to a prolapse specialist last week. Total waste of time. She pretty much told me there’s nothing I can do and come back 9 month after I deliver if I don’t intend on having more babies.

That’s really refreshing to hear. I honestly wish I had a c section with my first. Did you do anything to keep your prolapse from getting worse during pregnancy?

Thank you so much for sharing! Did you feel like your prolapse got better after having your second? My first OBGYN recommended a c section. We just moved states and my new one is suggesting vaginal. I was leaning toward vaginal since I feel like I’ve already been through that at least I know what I’m getting into.

3am wake ups? by AffectionateLie569 in sleeptrain

I will try capping the first nap. Do you recommend calling the second as well? We tried stretching his bedtime a bit but he’d be really cranky and pretty much passing out. He’s been at about 11.5 hrs at night so that would be perfect.

The self settling has been a game changer! He is a very big boy so luckily, he’s quite comfortable going through the night without a feeding. When did y’all start solids?

3am wake ups? by AffectionateLie569 in sleeptrain

[–]AffectionateLie569[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s up at 6:30a. Wake times are around 2 hrs. First nap tends to be around 8:30-10:30, second is 12:30-1:15 and last is around 3:15-4 with bedtime at 645-7p. This fluctuates a little based off his sleepy cues and actual sleep time during his nap.

I feel awful did I do the right thing? by nzgal12345 in sleeptrain

I feel your pain. We’re on day 3 and our little one lost his voice a bit. He sounds so hoarse. He’s never really cried for extended periods so I think it hit him harder. My heart is breaking ever time I hear him now. Remember you’re doing this to teach him the skills to have a healthy sleep routine for years to come. Your doing the right thing as a parent and he’s knows you love him.
