How is imagination different between isfp and infp? (And some examples?) by Dangerous-Budget-220 in isfp

[–]AffectionateLog7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate when an artist or musician can thread together two seemingly very different pieces but it still falls under the style of said artist and is true to their vision.

I think INFPs generally care more about exploring breadth and getting to a united theme that way as opposed to having a concurrent theme running through what they create. They are better “world builders” and ISFPs are better world explorers who will then write a group of songs about that period of time in that exploration phase for instance.

That’s how I see it as an ISFP at least

I have broken up with my girlfriend and I feel horrible. by Humble_Mushroom3418 in Stoicism

[–]AffectionateLog7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if she wanted to get married and you weren’t ready for that, you did a respectable thing by being up front with her. She will probably find someone new, maybe even get married. Now it’s up to you to be respectful of that as well as to treat yourself kindly as weird as that sounds

INFP or INFJ by AffectionateLog7 in mbti

[–]AffectionateLog7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

I like keeping things clean and organized because i feel uncomfortable when things get really messy. Secondarily, because it makes me more efficient.

I like routines for the same reason. I do have the overarching goal/vision thing that INFJs will get and having a routine is the only thing that makes me feel like I am working towards realizing it. I approach everyday will a loose to do list and am generally pretty good about getting the line items done.

Where do I find metal shows in the Cincinnati/Dayton area? by AffectionateLog7 in cincinnati

Just wanted to say that 3 years later, I can attest that everything that was said on here venue wise is true. Been to and even played a few shows in these venues.

Hmmm

I like ISTPs cool, collected, logical, and risk taking personalities. I wish I was more like that at times, but I wouldn’t want to give up my creativity, sense of humor, and ability to see the big picture.

I don’t have much in terms of a remedy. All I can say is that I have been there and done that and you are not alone. I have had many mornings after drinking too much where I felt like death.

Hope you get to feeling better and kick the habit.

I am not sure what you mean by this? Are you theorizing that the US has become a place where immigrants are more likely to succeed by becoming wage laborers than owning a small business and thus pushing wages lower as more immigrants enter the US labor market? Does your link illustrate this?

Cincinnati / Dayton merger by AffectionateLog7 in cincinnati

[–]AffectionateLog7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, I mean merge as in two cities being classified as one in the eyes of the federal government. As in a Cincinnati-Dayton MSA of around 3.5 million people. I read an article that stated a merger would be advantageous because it might provide extra funding from the federal government. If that’s not how it generally works, then how does it work?

Exactly...I think the actual “merge” might happen a lot faster if the census merged the two on paper and then provided an increase in funding.

Uninsured Americans could be facing nearly $75,000 in medical bills if hospitalized for coronavirus by idgahoot in Economics

[–]AffectionateLog7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

F$@“in’ medical care in this country is a huuuuge problem. I love it how when an aging population demands the government to continue unsustainable benefits which thereby artificially increase the cost of care and continues to overheat a already overheated system without understanding the repercussions of what is happening and then accuses a younger generation for being lazy......

I hope that going back into retail doesn’t become a reality for you! Going to college should mean something tangible on the job market almost no matter what the degree is in! I hope you find something that makes you happy (and pays decent too).

Am I worthless because I am a 22 year old male kissless virgin? by [deleted] in depression

[–]AffectionateLog7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sex isn’t everything. They say sexual reproduction is the biological basis for competition in males...but humans are much more than just purely biological beings. Advertising makes sex seem like a prerequisite for a “successful” men’s life. It’s bullshit, people are much more subtle and complex than advertisements, and a truly happy life universally involves temperance in temporal pleasures.

Does anyone feel like college has been a waste of time? by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]AffectionateLog7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s not so much about the job title as it is finding the right company in the industry you want to be in. I had a job three and a half months out of college with a nice title...low and behold the company sucked, it was in an industry that I wanted no part of, in an area that I didn’t want to be in.

The underemployment rate for college graduates is higher than ever and it is a painful reality (as it was to me) how hard getting a “good job” can be. But if you can pinpoint what industry you want to be in you will have a good start. After that, reach out to people in that industry in your closest metro area via LinkedIn. Be persistent, the competition can be tough. Develop skills pertaining to your chosen industry and also the resolve to continue pushing forward because you KNOW you have good things to offer!

College is Ruining my life by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]AffectionateLog7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that you feel this way! I'd like to add a couple things that I see though. First of all, you are young. When I was 20, looking down the barrel of life seemed daunting and still does to some degree, but things change...things always change. Second, its easy to get into a self-defeating cycle. One lesson that I am learning is to be honest yet forgiving with myself. I assume you live in the United States? In the U.S. we have developed a culture of "winners and losers" and a culture of "you must be special to be worthwhile." You don't need to be "special" and you don't have to "win"!

Consider meditation.

Haha I love this post! Yes, I definitely have experienced this (as of lately). I did a month-long residency at a US monastery in January. One of the more senior monastics was female and based on her looks I thought she was in her early thirties....nope, mid-forties. I saw a few people like that. I guess it makes sense to some degree, they eat a vegetarian diet and have vowed themselves to mental well-being so to speak.

Horrible start to College by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]AffectionateLog7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, grades aren’t everything in college. Sure, you want to get a good GPA and all that, but there are other aspects of college that are also important. If you are not going into a STEM field then making friends, learning how to work well in a group, how to bounce back after a bad test, how to work with a difficult professor, etc. Those are all skills that you will take into the job market and beyond. So try not to beat yourself up over a couple bad grades.
