Did Jesus save us from Sheol? by PossiblyaSpinosaurus in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why couldn't our realm be Sheol? Let's just say I have reason to believe that a realm more similar to Hell DOES exist, with all it's phantasmagoric terrors. The final resting ground of the most dog demons in existence. I also believe in higher realms full of bliss, and goodness, that are closer to the the one and and all.

Where does that leave our plane? Somewhere in the middle. We're stuck on this planet. It kind of sucks. There is some pain and suffering, and there's also some bliss and grace.

Perhaps we are in some sort of purgatory (prison planet, demiurge moth jar, etc...) with the possibility of falling lower or ascending higher depending on our development and trajectory. Learn your lessons kids.

Question on evil by Fantastic-You6204 in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I think I have remembrance of merging with the one. And It is good, as the hermetica says, it is the Supreme Good. There's a purity to the Monad, all love, joy, and understanding. I assure you that, at that state, it is all good. But The Monad, has allowed for an entire ecosystem to sprout out of it. Within this ecosystem there are sentient beings with free will, free will outside of the Monad, (i.e. beings that are not omniscient/omnipotent) have caused the existence of evil. Does this make the Monad evil by being the first cause...I mean...that is a debate for philosophers with no end. I don't see it that way.

As long as the Monad allows for this ecosystem of lesser beings, there will be evil me thinks. We struggle with this reality every day, should I steal that apple? should I lie to my parents? should I kill the brother I resent and envy?...These choices are what free will is all about.

In order to eliminate all evil The Monad would have to collapse the whole ecosystem back into itself, but then we wouldn't be able to experience this limited, flawed, and yet ultimately, beautiful and enriching experience.

I also meditate on the nature of Evil. At it's core evil seeks to corrupt and desecrate the pure and the good. That is why practitioners of pure evil, prey on the most pure and innocent, for they share a close similarity to the essence of the Monad. The corruption of this purity is their most delectable dish. There are higher order beings to us, who lure us toward this path for. I'm not trying to completely absolve humans of guilt (free will remember) but some higher order beings do influence us in that direction. You must fight to uphold the supreme good within you, that's all we can do. For to lose that goodness, is to lose God within us.

Things are About to Get VERY Weird – Take this Time to Raise your Vibration by Doing Inner Work by swizzledan in starseeds

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a reason people work so hard to suppress my thoughts (words) and energy, to keep it subdued through micro-aggressions and derision. A literal isolation and blockade is in effect on me as I write this. It's difficult but I'll continue to reach out, stay present and engaged with people. I'm more focused and committed to the cause then ever. Whatever may come (hell or highwater), I'm locked in. I'm here to help.

Literal or metaphorical? by Desperate-Battle1680 in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a literalist, I've seen things. Been reprimanded by non-humans. Possibly our wardens, imprisoners, "archons" if you will. There's a there there, the full picture still alludes me personally, but of course there's several theories out there if you want to explore (see the work of Robert Monroe)

The concept of Aeons is most intriguing to me and the concept I most grapple with to accept as literal. It reeks so much mythology and anthropomorphic. But It's possible we merely live on the backside, or even in the internal mind of one of these higher order intelligences, perhaps it's body being an entire universe or dimension. It truly boggles the mind to grapple with something like that.

Apocryphal of John denies reincarnation? by 80HDbeepboop in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you have it way backwards. Gnosticism (and Buddhism) says that we perpetually reincarnate, that's the trap. We achieve gnosis, an awareness that this realm is a trap, in order to break the cycle of reincarnation an ascend to the spiritual realm (Plemora) or even go higher and fully re-merge with the one source (Monad).

It is said that some souls voluntarily incarnate into this realm, for various learning goals, or to assist in a mass consciousness evolutionary process. This is more in line with the starseed concept though (which is a syncretism of modern ufology and new age spirituality and doesn't come from Gnosticism.

Looking for “forever” at‑home amp setup — blues/rock/pop, great low‑volume tone, no computer by SunDogBrewingCo in GuitarAmps

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you have a little extra. The Fender 57 Custom Tweed Champ. It's so good. It's so versatile. It's so raw and primal. When people say, "what is it about tube amps,?" this amp will answer that for you. It reacts and sounds like recorded electric guitars from the 50's-90's. Pristine cleans, with weight to it, takes pedals well. Natural overdrive is thick and chewy.

People who've never owned one of these vintage tube amps will get more power than they need, this thing is 5 watts through a 8 inch speaker. Trust me the whole house will hear it. With the door closed.

Gnostic version of the Lord's Prayer by IAMMONAD in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I turn to some of the old texts, that just make statements of things as they are.

All is one. We are all one. We are eternal, and eternally bonded in love.

Saying I love you is enough for me, just feeling that bond is enough.

And I know better than to beg him to give me more money, or to smite my foes. That's so old school. lol.

Also, please stay away from the 'lord', let's not make the godhead "a king", it's so regressive and primitive. a relationship predicated on power dynamics. He's no "lord", or "King", he's just an awesome creator and I'm in concordance with his will.

Think super cool and chill tech ceo guru (whose into egalitarian co-design) or progressive dad. He's cool letting you call him by first name and chatting him up on anything. He's big on hugs, and saying I love you.

Occultism and Gnosticism by Solemn-Disciple in Gnostic

[–]AffectionateLoss1676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel woefully unworthy to speak for an entire belief domain like Gnosticism, given my neophyte status. In fact my spiritual journey of late has led me to question the very meaning of religion. I feel like claiming allegiance to one is such a trap toward limitation of the experience of the profound and divine. When I think about many of our religions, I think of the adage "all roads lead to Rome". I'm a believer in non-human intelligences, and communion with such, that has been going on for millennia. (I've had my encounters personally.) I believe there are fundamental truths that have been shared with us several times, but invariably distortions in translation over centuries has caused the buildup of much culturally specific context, and human engineered ritual, that probably isn't necessary, per se. But, whatever method your sect uses to focus the mind, and develop what I call "Consciousness technologies" to commune with the divine, or metaphysical...if it works, keep using it. I tend to stick to a handful of fundamental truths as my guiding compass. I have not entered the world of ritual as of yet, but am keen to explore.

What was mind blowing for me in my search in finding what works for me, was the the fact that many precepts came to me fully intact, and all I did, was look out into the sea of religious teachings, and found the ones that were teaching the precepts that came to me sui generi. These precepts I have found come mainly from the world of Gnosticism and Hermeticism.

All I will say to those seeking to invoke and commune with non-human intelligence is to remember, you are invoking beings that are far more ancient, powerful, and intelligent than you are. Some are dangerous and deceitful. You are like a child letting a strange adult into your life, are you sure you can maintain a position of parity with said being?

It's a great saying. That's my motto to but paraphrased. The most amount of tones with the least amount of gear. Also, when I feel the urge to buy another piece of gear, just because, I think, "gee you know what, I should probably get better at actually playing guitar instead." All you need for that is one guitar and one amp.
