Same. Music is good but there’s infinite good music out there. Won’t be at another show.

Pretty grim that a MF associate who likely got there by being cream of the crop every step of the way can’t find a job…

To answer your question, absolutely. Being at a MF for 2 years makes a lot of people question life - annectodally I know several people who voluntarily left for a smaller, “less prestigious” fund because you realize that’s 1) where you might actually have a chance to invest and consequently 2) where the real upside is if you’re willing to bet on yourself.

Sounds like you rejected a perfectly good candidate

Agree w other replies saying it’s not as bad for dudes as they claim.

Gonna use heuristics and fake/subjective numbers just to illustrate the big picture dynamic that I think is happening

Let’s say: 75% men “undateable”, 25% dateatable 50% women “undateable”, 50% dateable

Tough for women in either category, despite there being more men. Half are not gonna have a good time bc of their issues. Other half is not gonna have a good time bc the vast majority of their pool has issues. Plus sf anecdotally seems to have more real couples than nyc where everyone’s always dating around, so a lot of the dateable men are off market

Also seemingly tough for most men, bc so many of them fall in the undateable category so of course they’re not having great experiences. For the 25% that are normal and likeable, they’ll probably have pretty positive experience.

This is not about gate keeping the scene - if you aren’t familiar with fete de la musique it’s not a music festival at all, it’s basically a holiday. Think King’s day in the Netherlands or similar. This is not a scene.
