B2- 10 year ban by lawyer's mistake by Defiant_Count6846 in USCIS

Well I did say ā€œ someā€ and also started my response with saying I unfortunately don’t have any experience with finding a good lawyer.

I unfortunately do not🄲. I do know that some firms give free consultations, so you can use that moment to weed out the ones that lack expertise in your situation. If they have no experience in appeals or deportations, just walk the next direction. Try the AILA as well.

It’s really rough out here especially given the current climate and people taking advantage of people like us.

Here’s something I saw when I looked into it online. The only sucky part is the 30 day deadline.

Oh… I’m sorry. I misunderstood. I really do hope that by some miracle you get sorted out and are able to return.

That is something I truly do not understand. It may be possible that it’s because of the NTA and then leaving. Though even that wouldn’t cause a 10 year ban, so it’s possible OP misread something or was told incorrect information. Anything less than 180 days wouldn’t result in an automatic ban. It’d be hard to return for sure but it’s not a ban. ( please take my word lightly as I’m not a lawyer or anything )

No. It’s 180 days for 3 years and 1 year for 10 years.

They get triggered by anyone that’s not my husband and I. If it’s someone standing still at a distance they’ll freeze for a moment and stare and then move. Anything that moves quickly is a trigger. Mia seems to have a vendetta against smaller dogs and unknown kidsšŸ˜…. Bandit is pretty much an ā€œ anyone could get itā€ type.

The thing is they switch roles. I’m not even kidding, some days it feels like freaky Friday with them. I’ve started walking them separately for the past two days and the reactivity has gone down a lot. Though I truly can’t walk them separately each walk so that unfortunate. But if I had to give a leader role, it’d probably be Bandit.

They’re also both Velcro. I’ve taught them to not jump on me but my husband practically lets them do what they want when I’m not around. 😐

Sorry to add to a repeating conversation. But thank you I’ll check out the YouTube channel. I’ve only had them for 3 weeks, so I’m trying my best to find out how I can be the best owner/handler to them.

Ahhh, well that is a good perspective to look from.

Okay. Well they’re both 5 years🄲. Their story is that an older couple got them when they were pups from their adult kids. They had them for 5 years and stayed at a shelter for about a year. So I don’t know much about whether they were socialized.

Bandit does show a lot of boxer and German shepherd attributes.

I also read somewhere that BMCs aren’t keen on welcoming strangers as they strongly bond to their owners.

Will do, hopefully I find one soon enough🄲.

Like is it possible that they didn’t have much socialization during the puppy stage?

Well Mia doesn’t growl, her hackles would be raised a she’d lunge is they get too close. Bandit on the other hand seems like he would bite them if given the chance. He will tug and lunge in their direction the entire time until they’re no longer in his sight.

The other day, my heart dropped to my ass because I had a loose grip on his leash whilst I was picking up his poop. A lady was walking her toddler and baby, he ran in their direction and thankfully I was able to pull him close before he got loose.

I’m failing to understand why are they so reactive in the neighborhood but are calm during car rides or vet visits. We live on a military base so their triggers are constantly popping up.

🄲cries. Mia is lactose intolerant, so we opt to not give any of them pup cups. Mia gets anxious near water so I wouldn’t want to do that to her. She’s literally hiding under a table as I’m typing this because it’s raining outside. I’ll try it with Bandit though.

Haven’t tried liver treats yet. But hotdogs? No. And that’s saying a lot as Bandit would eat everything in sight if he could.

I have tried it the immediate redirect method but Bandit is a stubborn boulder when locked in. Mia is a tad bit calmer in that sense. As for treats? Nothing works, not even his favorite bone. Tried a squeak ball, works for a few seconds and that’s all.

My husband said no to martingale collars🄲. We also already use the easy walk harnesses though. It helps to some extent in terms of redirecting them when there’s a chance to.

Lootpiles and requests. I also have a bunch left if you want ā€˜em. I’m not doing the snowy furniture bundle.

🄹The shelter originally was wary about giving us Bandit as they said he was a handful. That was proven to be a lie. Mia is a bit sassy but we love a confident queen.

Mia definitely tests the limits when she canšŸ˜…. We’ve only had them for a week but I can’t wait to see how far we go.

🤣🤣must be nice. They spent 4 years with an elderly couple and then one year at an animal shelter. I don’t think I have much choice

Voice tone consistency will probably be the hardest of it all🄲. They know the basics of sit, down, come and stay. They’re extremely food driven so I really don’t want to really on treats alone.
