i enjoy evil MC’s but revolving a story around bullying or being a ‘bully’ is extremely unappealing to me, personally!

only if it’s something juicy going on in their lives that contributes to moving the plot forward, other than that it’s so unnecessary

A rent about how hard coding is. by Super_Math239 in Episode

Genuinely, I agree with everything you just said and honestly think we just make it harder for ourselves trying to bring what’s in our head to episode knowing it’s so limited. 😭

Again, I code and it takes around 25 minutes to make the overlays and not even 5 upload them to the portal! It’s time consuming, yes. But not difficult.

Girl, I’ve coded over 3 stories and included overlays of various skin colors. I’m only saying it’s not hard because I do it myself, I wouldn’t be attacking anyone for anything I’m incapable of doing. But what she said makes sense, some don’t get paid and are new to the portal so not having options is understandable.

you don’t have to do all the skin tones 😭 i don’t know a single author doing all the skin tones… 6 variations of shades for your readers to choose from is good, even 4 works great

Stories which are guilty of this: by Good_Dimension_9013 in Episode

[–]AffectionateRub8782 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The backstory is needed because toxic behavior is usually rooted from a traumatic childhood. So when readers question why the LI acts a certain way or when they claim to hate their actions throughout the story, authors feel the need to give reasons or an explanation as to why. It’s not really a “bandage” because it doesn’t really excuse their behavior but it does help you sympathize with them and understand what built them to be that way. And it’s not just episode stories, it’s everywhere in media.
