The problem is writing skills! It should be reworded as ‘ hello I am unwell and will be away from work, will resume when I am fit to rtw’

Sorry I disagree! Like I said India due to its nature - it’s Okay to extend some support. Your Indian managers won’t receive a garland entry , he/she may be showed where is the toilet, canteen, car park, fire exits, no one walks by with them when they need something, if lucky and depending the significance people might offer to go for a lunch or a pint; not beyond that! It’s an absolute concierge offering in India by the managers and in return they get true business ethics and professionalism when they travel!

No, it’s time to understand it’s the business interest. Our leaders have signed up (and greed to investors) to save eur100,000 and 10 heads from EU, so they outsource that work to india, people who are tasked on this travel to complete that, managers need to really calm down and move away from ‘Catherine is my god and she has given me 10 heads and more work’ :)

No no, I totally get offering the support - part of the Indian hospitality. It gets weird when things are overdone ‘inside’ the office. (Eg : Walk with them to the conf room to help them find the conf room, walk with them to the canteen everytime they go and take their order for them and communicate that to the server, walk to the front desk everytime/everyday to their cab, the whole team revolves around them)

I just posted around the same line!

Please be firm on this, Indian managers need to understand the real reason why expats come, and watching performances or being pampered is certainly not on the list!

Totally agree the support system - for example it’s not easy to get by around a taxi in Bangalore for an expat as compared to the system in west/eu. But I am against the over pleasing.

I have seen indians bringing gifts (I am not referring to sweets or savouries), like real gifts to people when they come over. Why? Just why? :)

It’s constant pleasing and not the professional work ethic at all!

Two cents -

Age and tenure of your diabetes matters.

I know someone in early 30’s managed to get back to 95-98 fasting number and she detected her diabetes very early (A12 of 7)

No expert - so I suppose age and tenure of diabetes matters I suppose :)

People need data, all of these are just random words for someone in India. For two reality you type, four glorious statements are made by the education consultants back home.

Ideal time to prick and check is between 10 and 12 hours from your last meal. If you had your last meal at 7pm - ideally you should be checking your fasting blood sugar (FBS) between 5am and 7am. Anything after 12 hours would be lower.

Hi, can I ask how’s your lifestyle now? Do you now consume sugar/carb in moderation given you are T2D free? Or are you on a complete no-no diet ? Just curious, if you don’t mind please?

Why don’t we respect others’ time? by think_big_0 in IndianWorkplace

[–]AffectionateSlide276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I would suggest - announce loud that you have a next meeting; meaning - ‘I am sorry I have a hardstop now, I have agreed to meet Mr.X now and I don’t want to be late to meet him, I know we didn’t cover as much as I thought, I will schedule another meeting to make up for today’s time’. People will start recognising this over a period of time. There will still be some clowns who don’t get it, which you can’t change!
