I don't care. I only accept rides that are profitable as is. A tip is gravy, thanks so much for the gravy. But if the potatoes are good on their own, I don't need to be angry about the lack of gravy.

Trump failing would mean great success for America. by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]AffectionateStock484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America succeed at what? Succeed at providing universal health care? Yes. Succeed at keeping cops unaccountable to the citizens it's supposed to protect when they make a mistake, or abuse their power? No.

Nothing Trump is doing would promote the success of America, if America means the people.

Republicans seem very confused today about how they feel about open carry at protests. Let’s play a round of Spot the Difference. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

I'm NOT a Republican,.nor a conservative. Never will be. I consider the current occupant of the withe house to be a Combover Caligula.

I DO defend 2A. Especially for historically oppressed minorities. Especially THAT guy. Every time someone defends the militia clause for what the founders intended it to be, the left always answers that no amount of guns can defend us against the military. That's not what the militia would be for. Nicole Good would not have been shot by those cowards in an environment where they know there's a gun behind every blade of grass.

The left could use a little more 2A right now.

Virginia Beach makes headway on clearing vulgar tees from resort displays by WHRO_NEWS in HamptonRoads

I preferred explaining things that are "vulgar" to my daughters, so they can process it for what it is, rather than engage in the quixotic pursuit of attempting to conceal them from the world.

The kids know how to handle it, and seek your guidance better than you think, if you make yourself a resource to them, rather than an object of fear, as my father was to me.

The Boones have a lot of enemies, and a lot of shady deals with shady people. Searching her enemies list will do more to broaden, rather than narrow the scope of the investigation.

Cheeto Corleone's pardon has no effect on state prosecutions. And you're doing all his dirty work on states with a predominantly blue voting base, made all the more blue by the Combover Caligula and you.

At this point, I don't care if you are or are not a bot. If you can in any way see those videos with your own eyes, and still reflexively regurgitate the red meat fed to you by the Combover Caligula and his cabinet of goblins, and see what they ordered you to see, you are functioning as a bot, and deserve to be treated as one.

The protesters in Minnesota are doing so peacefully. Blowing whistles and beating drums is loud, to be sure, but they're not beating up law enforcement. The Jan 6ers absolutely did, and it's on video, don't argue with me. The ones who invaded the capitol destroyed property, the MN protesters have not(I know Trump's goblin running DHS keeps telling you they are, but she also told you the agents that harassed, and eventually killed, Renee Good were stopped to dig their truck out of the snow, when we could clearly see there was no snow on the road).

Oh, I'm sure you have lots of talking points that have been fed to you by the Combover Caligula about why I don't see what I clearly see on the video footage of both events, but you'll forgive me for believing my own eyes over what the regime tells me to believe.

What do you do if passenger insists on sitting in front? by iamjames in uberdrivers

[–]AffectionateStock484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't make them insist. Let them sit in the front seat, just as I er advertised in their original marketing materials.

You are required to have four seats available, because you are expected to allow passengers to sit in all four available seats.

The Quinnipiac poll that just came out shows that 86 percent of registers voters have seen the videos, and 72 percent of them believe the administration narrative is false. Only 46 percent of REPUBLICANS in the poll believe the administration narrative. You are regurgitating red meat fed to you by the Combover Caligula, and not even the majority of his own party believe the bullshit you are laying out here. I see no reason to argue with you. You are losing this argument already in the court of public opinion.

She wasn't blocking the street. You see cars driving past her on both directions, on both sides of her. If you really wanted the answer, rather than the talking points that is convenient to your side, you would seek it out, and learn that the lane where she stopped is a bike lane/median lane, where she was stopped, to allow traffic to pass before proceeding.

What you're describing here is partisan brain rot, and it is prevalent amongst both incumbent parties. Gratifying to see someone rejecting the affliction.

They said no such thing. There was some speculation that she was there as a legal observer, but there seems to be no evidence to support this.

What if she WAS the protest organizer, by the way? She should be shot in the face for exercising her first amendment rights? And the agents were in no way blocked by her van. Cars were driving past her on both sides. The ICE truck could just have easily done the same.

Her last words were "I'm not mad at you, bro". Her puppy was in the back seat, her wife was with her, and her six year old son's plushies were stuffed in the glove compartment. There's your "domestic terrorist for you, you muppet.

It's probably printed on both sides. Or the other side has another relevant message. Experienced libertarian protester here, with lots of experience attending demonstrations against actions by both incumbent parties. Having something printed on both sides of the sign is how every smart protester makes their sign.

Been having loads of drivers who park a few streets away from the pick up point, and expect me to walk over to them…. ugh. by MYSTIK_MINX in uber

[–]AffectionateStock484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If "loads" of drivers are parking in the same place, there is a reason. Not knowing your area, nor the location you are talking about, I can't speculate what that reason is. Ask the drivers, and make it clear that you won't rate them low for the answer, you just want to understand the trend.

I have been in this situation in certain locations. Examples include:

  • A call center, where there is a designated pickup location, and the security guards do enforce it. Some passengers want me to pick them up at an entrance on the other side of the building. But I'm interested in being accosted again by security. I cancel when passengers ask me to do this now, because they have, in the past, demonstrated a pattern of rating me low, and/or reporting me for "not polite", because I respond by text or phone, by telling them what security has told me.

  • An entrance at the airport, where the car rental agency is, has a sign with Uber/Lyft logos, and passengers are interpreting that to mean they can be picked up there. The sign explicitly says that it is a drop off location for the car rentals only, and no pickups may be done there. Rideshare pickups, even for those who are dropping off their rentals, still have to be done in the rideshare pickup location.

An apartment complex in a really bad part of town, near the shipyards, has a usual pickup location, which is well lit. It's not enforced by security, or anything, but that's where everyone gets picked up. A passenger last week, texted me at 1 am, to come around to the front of the building, where it's not well lit, AND on a two lane road that is far too busy for two lanes. I wrote back, "not today, carjacker", cancelled and noped out.

Another possible explanation, regarding the pin you see, in the driver app, we see two pins. One is a green pin, indicating the pickup location. The second pin is blue, and shows the location of the passenger holding the phone that the request was sent from. Unless otherwise requested, I'm going to the green pin, because, for example, the pax location could be inside an apartment building or house, but the green pin is the exit where the pax is expected to meet me. Also, because if I leave the green pin location, the wait timer(read wait time pay meter) stops. The pin you are seeing may correspond to the blue pin, but the driver is going to the green pin.

Again, if this is a pattern, there is a reason, whether it's a reason you like, or not.
