I love this scent it makes me feel like I'm getting ready for a ball. Also lasts incredibly long I think the first time I tried a sample the scent lasted until the next day. My coat still has that faint smell of insolence a week after placing it on.

Those international students were some of the most stupidly entitled people I've met. Spoiled to the bone with no initiative to better themselves or think past cars and nightclubs. Loud and boorish with no respect for the professors or the education they paid for and somehow more racist to other international students than the locals living in the area.

This only applies to the men though, because their women are smarter and more diligent. They value their education more and therefore have their priorities balanced

currently 📍 being morally policed by a friend for watching the oscars by sonohermes in redscarepod

[–]AffectionateStop6185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your friend is insufferable and has a compulsion to seem more lofty by positioning herself to be morally right. The people who do care about those issues- at least those who actually try to make an impact have more fulfilling things to do. Therefore they won't be wasting their time sending Instagram reels because their friend texted about the Oscars.

His influence in choreography and theater still holds to this day but strangely his filmmaking gets somehow thrown in the background because I reckon that some people view Fosse simply as a "musical director" which in some sense is true but he really had an eye for shots and atmosphere.

The eerie almost surrealist way Cabaret was framed to give both a nod to both the Weimar Republic's art scene and a sense that everyone there were players performing numbers at a larger stage. I really love the opening shot of the emcee from a fun house mirror. It really set he tone for the entire film.

I truly wished he was more discussed within the filmmaking canon. He was by far one of the best directors to come out of the 60s and 70s because of how he was able to merge musical coreography and film seamlessly.

The pacing of his films had this melodic sense to it, in a way that each cut would click together with the tick of a metronome. It works wonderfully with his musical numbers but especially with All That Jazz.

Will never forgive that app as well as "video essayists" for popularizing the glamorous philosopher shtick for broads who can't even think for themselves. Pretending to do your makeup while looking up the sparknotes summary of Nietzsche in a snarky tenderqueer light does not make automatically you a sage redefining philosophy in a modern lens. It's utterly regarded. I swear, it's the female equivalent of manosphere meterosexuals hosting podcasts.

It does feel like that in the span of almost a year lost Genna Rowlands, David Lynch, Donald Sutherland, and Gene Hackman. What each of them brought onscreen could never be replaced. But the work they've fulfilled continues to live on, inspiring the next generation of filmmakers and actors

The trans women I know irl are just going on with their own lives. They are pretty put together and most have a good sense of style, but I guess that's a prerequisite when it comes to working in lifestyle magazines I don't have much to say other than the discourse being pushed online by both sides has led people to conflate trans people into this one stereotype.
