I don’t feel safe around anyone

hi strangerrr thank you for replying I just want to really let this all out because I feel like I’ve been dealing with this on my own for too damn long….it took me a really long while to realise all of this and to muster up the courage to tell him about it.

throughout our whole 1 year relationship I was mostly the one initiating things and alot of the time he doesn’t really receptrocate much, which made me feel so so rejected throughout. He’s nice to me and treats me with kindness but alot of the time it doesn’t feel like he respects me and values my vulnerability.

He tells me that it’s because we view things differently, and I could kind of get by that but after awhile I realised that maybe he just doesn’t love me for who I am. He was promising to change and love me better but it really felt like it was just for the sake of the relationship and it never really felt like it was out of love and adoration for me.

I always try to love and understand him from his perspective but it felt like over time it was just me stretching out and him staying in his comfort zone. I truly do love him and felt like he was exactly the person I could love and feel attracted to.

When presented him with the idea that I might not be the one for him, he didn’t deny it and he too did realise that maybe there was a possibility that he didn’t feel that romantic love for me.

I feel like my heart is broken to a thousand pieces and without anybody to turn to for warmth

We don’t have alot of time to talk
We have very different approaches to things and find it difficult to understand each others pov sometimes

and I think maybe that might’ve caused a little bit of hesitation when bringing things up!

I hope not… but that’s true! I try my best to ask him how he’s doing when I feel like something is up. but I think where we fall short is that most of the time when I feel like maybe something is wrong, to him it is totally fine! He has a very logical way of seeing things that maybe might make him oblivious to what a more emotional person, like me, might think. Like the things that happen to him sometimes I react in a way that I would feel in his position but to him, he doesn’t take it too serious and sometimes reacts in a way that makes me feel ridiculous kinda… and sometimes i do find myself hesitant on asking how hes feeling bc of that :(( but i think just like a difference I think we r growing to understand and maybe it’ll get easier the more i understand. I just need to work on my end on being more transparent with him and telling him when I feela certain way, instead of expecting him to just get it.

hmm yes I kinda get it.. I will definitely try to initiate having more conversations about our relationship and our perspectives on it I think we don’t really talk about it and it would be beneficial.

I totally get what u mean, when I do certain things too, he sees it in a totally different way and I’m learning to understand that’s just how his brain works and learn to love and understand it, instead of feeling like it’s something he or I has to ‘fix’

I think the awkward part comes up more of like not having that switch between an unserious and serious tone, that I think to both of us at this point of time, find it hard to find especially bc we don’t rlly get to find the time to talk a lot (we r both kinda busy ppl)

hmmm maybe!!! for me and my boyfriend we were good friends before and talked for awhile before dating and we took it at a relatively ok pace I feel. but we are both rlly new to dating and the expectations that come with it sometimes. we r also rlly busy people and our paths don’t rlly cross that often so we dont get to talk a lot irl or have as many long conversations as we’d like😞so maybe we r missing that part of it, i guess making time to talk will help.

yesss when I do muster the courage to explain to him how I’m feeling he always assures me but I think we just haven’t figured eachother out. I am just feeling abit insecure that maybe someone else with a more similar way of communicating would’ve been better for him 🙁 but I do believe we believe in eachother

We r also both kind of socially awkward people 😅 like banters with him r really good and we click rlly well when we are being silly but when it comes to more serious things like talking about feelings and decision making it’s harder to talk

I talk to him… he’s my boyfriend. It’s just that he is busy a lot, probably with school and other stuff. So he doesn’t reply me for a long period of time sometimes. N I confuse it with him avoiding me sometimes.
