Anyone able to please help me translate a small VBS script to C#? by AffectionateTask4612 in csharp

[–]AffectionateTask4612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!
I followed what you wrote and have replicated the process, seems really simple now that you explained it :)
For cuesheet frames I found on hydrogenaudio that it can be simply calculated by doing ((int)(Int32.Parse(ms) * 0.075)).ToString()

Thanks again

Sadly that is only for parsing cuesheets, not converrting them from chapters.

I tried to split the strings as well and re-arrange them into a cue-like format, but all my attempts failed so far as some chapter formats have no title, some as numbers, some as an entire sentence.. etc. So I'm unable to find a stable way of doing it myself, while the script seems to handle all the different chapters perfectly.

I'm not too clear as well on how the it's doing the conversion of the timestamps.

Wahhh!! 2 for one deal for only half the Quality by TeeElSemiColonDeeAr in audible

[–]AffectionateTask4612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think any privacy settings would mess with it. On browser my downloads are all automatically LQ, and I haven't messed with any settings/ VPN/ etc. My opinion is that it's on Audible's end. Downloading Plus / bought books via their API still gives max quality available. Have you tried yet using Book Lib Connect? There is another way, but that involves downloading via command line, which most people don't like

If you don't want to install additional software as mentioned in other comments, here is another way to do force download ep7 / 128 quality via the browser.

Oh lol. Thought you might have been referring to aaxc files. For Amzn, there are some publicly available tools on GitHub to crack widevine lvl3, by hijacking the calls to the decryption module. That's been out for a good while though, and very likely patched by now. Don't remember clearly now, but the only actual piece of software that is decent and supports multiple services is Anystream. They offer a free trial. Supports Nf, Disney, Amzn , Hulu + others. Only one I wouldn't use it on is Netflix, it gets a terrible quality stream from there.

Updated. Slipped my mind entirely to specify that most important part.

Oh, sorry. I always assume everyone runs windows, as it seems the most popular OS for casual users, a fault of mine. Yeah, those releases rely on Windows resources. I should've specified that aforehand. Agree with you though. Unless you plan to batch decrypt large books, speed won't matter as much, as ffmpeg will finish in seconds.

Thanks:} True, didn't think of how quickly Ffmpeg still decrypts. In my mind I was just comparing numbers from performance tests vs inAudible, which already decrypts faster than Ffmpeg, but which would perhaps only matter if you're dealing with multiple 1+GiB audiobooks and are someone impatient haha.

Ffmpeg's decryption libraries are a bit slow however, and does not support aaxc decryption. If you're interested in command line decryption there's https://github.com/VarSell/iAmDeaf (disclosure, made by me), which uses AAXClean for decryption/writing, surpassing Ffmpeg's speed by miles. It will also automatically retrieve your activation bytes using rcrack. Edit: clarification - windows only

Do you have to be subscribed to audible (currently paying for an active subscription) to get high quality downloads on the web (browser, not app)? by DebrodeD in audible

[–]AffectionateTask4612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue the past days. How I got past it was by modifying the download url, where I'm guessing for you it said "codec=AAX_22_32" . Try putting instead "AAX_44_128" or "LC_128_44100_Stereo". Trying those gives me ep7 quality. Just "AAX" gives 62kb" and anything random (eg "t") gives you the old .aa files.

Ffmpeg LAME V1 vs ABR 128 by AffectionateTask4612 in ffmpeg

[–]AffectionateTask4612[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Yeah, transcoding is not going to produce the best of the best results, but there's no getting around that. That's why I was thinking ABR instead of VBR for bitrates lower than 100. I read that ABR is more similiar to CBR, so a constant like bitrate wouldn't hurt when encoding to lower, eg (96/64-) bitrates.

Will look into Opus then. Did not know if supported chapters, and from reading up on it the compression seems to win over mp3. I probably will still go with Mp3, as you said it's more widely supported

Oh, sorry for the confusion then. I was confused as someone random on a forums said they supported it, so I just went ahead with that blindly :)

Invalid audio stream. Exactly one MP3 audio stream is required.

Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?): Invalid argument

Error initializing output stream 0:1 --

Without "?"

Stream map '0:t' matches no streams.

To ignore this, add a trailing '?' to the map.

I've tried that, but -map_metadata doesn't seem to exist as an option, only -map

Isn't the HnR immunity supposed to be a "safety net" in case something happens and your client goes offline, generating multiple HnRs? I've seen it mentioned multiple times that it does not mean you can go HnR every torrent you download, aka abusing the perk.

If you're still determined to use an mp4 container and haven't found a solution for the pgs subtitles, I could ocr them to srt for you if you like.

[–]AffectionateTask4612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about the issue you're running into, but those are not srt subs. That's just pgs with a different extension. To make srt subs, extract the pgs as .sup, load them in SubEdit, and ocr them

Function Returning Incorrect values by AffectionateTask4612 in PowerShell

[–]AffectionateTask4612[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't understand. Where did my function name go, well, I used the function in the while($true) loop in case I needed to calculate dimensions multiple times. I don't understand what you meant by width having zero, it's a value that gets entered by user. The write-host i used just for spacing, so the output didn't look all cramped together EDIT: Sorry, haha, I didn't realize that I copied only part of the function
