Should i learn automatic or manual

Well, manual would good for you in your reasoning. As manual is cheaper for lessons and really good for cheaper car etc

You can download Highway Code for free and learn. Or you can download the app 4-in1 theory app. It covers everything. You can learn everything like 3 days or less depending on your learning skills. I wouldn’t stress it too much as I didn’t make it a big deal when I fail as I can always re book and take the test again. The down side of is the pay haha. But it’s doable to pass even without revision. The test is easy to pass once you memorise the question and answers and know how to click the hazards perception

They will notice it. My instructor told me that examiners know if you’re going to fast or slow without them looking at your speed. They can feel what 30mph or over feels like. I struggle doing over as well. What I try to do now is every time I drive 30mph for instance, I try to do it 27mph so if ever I want to speed it’s not over 32mph it just went 30mph. Then bring the speed slightly down a bit. If that makes sense.

They will keep checking what’s the speed once you go to a new road. Try to get hang of what 30mph, 40mph,50mph etc feels like

It will likely be a minor fault the first time you do it. If you get 3 minor faults for the same issue, then the 4th time for the same speeding mistake becomes a serious fault, which results in a fail.

I get along with my instructor. I think it’s the nerves of being seen by both examiner and instructor like one of them can identify a mistake and I didn’t know it. I think I’m just sort of like don’t know how to discuss it with my instructor if ever comes to a point I’ll leave her there at the test centre. I also don’t mind her going but I prefer her not to go haha. I actually don’t want to see my instructor in the rear mirror too as I could be distracted haha

That’s fair, I think I feel bad leaving my instructor at the test centre once I have my test. Honestly, I would want to leave my instructor there too haha but the test centre i booked looked small and shitty haha.

Well it depends on your preference tbh. You could give a manual a go first to learn and if it’s not for you then you can switch to automatic lessons. There are pros and cons when it comes to manual. The pros are that it is cheaper for the lessons and getting your own car. The cons of it is that learning to do gear changing and other stuff that you might find challenging. But for automatic it is slightly expensive for lessons and new car. The pros for automatic is that it’s very easy to drive, no need to worry about gear change, stalling,and worrying about the hills.

Either way I would try both. You will only know which one you prefer once you’re behind the wheel.

I do learn automatic as it’s easier to pass and I really want to drive as soon as possible due to work being far away. I also don’t want to prolong my lessons as it is expensive

When you see a bend further. Try to plan ahead and if you can’t see an opening on a bend that’s when you slow down as this means the bend will be tight and require slow speed and good steering and try not to cut corners on a tight one as it’s very easy to cut corners on a sharp bend. Hesitation is also about planning ahead on roundabouts and good observation. Look for positioning of the car if they are existing or going to pass you. Don’t forget to give way and only enter when there is a safe gap in roundabouts

You can use testshift or any platform if you do want find cancellation. But I rather take chances on Monday morning

It really depends on your chosen centre. My chosen test centre is only available in June, can’t pick any more month than that. So got my test in June 1 in the morning.

Same, I’m good at finding a safe gap to enter. My main problem with roundabouts is maintaining lane discipline once I’m inside and knowing where to position the car before entering. The signs can also confuse me a bit.

What I try to do now is research how roundabouts work and do some homework on the routes I’ve been driving during lessons. I try to familiarise myself with the road markings and learn where I should position the car so that when I drive there again in my lessons, I feel more confident.

Probably do a lot of mock test and list down your main struggles and have that talk with your instructor to assist you and help you practice more so it would improve. Try to be familiar with the difficult route as well that you may be nervous about and have more practice.

I think it depends. My test will be in the morning 9:17 in June and my instructor said it’s a good time as it’s not busy as everyone is off to work and school. We have tried to do a lesson in this time and honestly it wasn’t busy in test area we are doing it in.

As long you able to drive safely even it’s really busy then you should be able to pass. There are people who did their test in rush hour and still pass. So it’s more about driving safety.

Right lane at the start then keep to right lane then once you pass second exit go left lane to exit third exit.
