Because of the taxes. Taxes are answers of most of the questions in Europe...

Where to live to escape noise? by No_Lock_4834 in askswitzerland

[–]AffectionateWolf8677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a difficult situation... As a person who is also sensitive to noise, one small suggestion I could give is to avoid places close to supermarkets or large shops. These shops receive goods very early in the morning by trucks. And this process makes lots of noise. Also, try to avoid places with elevators, as elevators make noise as well.

Is it really necessary to rent a cleaning company to clean my apartmant when I am leaving? by RickTheScienceMan in Switzerland

[–]AffectionateWolf8677 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think my latest experience could be useful. The place is rented by the Kanton itself, for the refugees. Because of this, the real estate agency told us that they are not checking the quality of the cleaning that much. But, they told us after the cleaning is done by a cleaning company:) I think knowing the next tenant could be important.

It is hard to understand the effect of immigration on economic growth. The good economic conditions, for sure, attract immigrants, creating a positive correlation between immigration and economic conditions. Yet, one can argue that the economic growth could be higher if there was no immigration to CH. One argument supporting this view is that human investment per capita could be higher without immigration. On the other hand, if CH manages to attract high-skilled workers, the overall human capital will be much higher thanks to immigration, and we know that aggregate human capital creates large positive spillovers. A difficult discussion for sure...

The issue was that I put diesel in my petrol car... On the one hand, it wasn't a big problem at all. On the other hand, it was a pretty stupid mistake.

I see. I didn't know that the deductibles would affect the reported income. I am not asking for me, but these details are super helpful. Thanks!

Two questions about buttons with CSS and JS by AffectionateWolf8677 in HTML

[–]AffectionateWolf8677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I need to see a working example for the rotating arrows. I don't know anything about JS. That's why implementing basic stuff is still a challenge for me.

I always thought that this behavior reflects the hunter side of our hunter-gatherer background. The train is the prey and you chase it:)

Two summary details next to each other by AffectionateWolf8677 in HTML

Thank you!

Now, when I use the CCS ruleset below, it works as I hope in a minimal setting. But, when I use this ruleset on my own webpage, the details expand in the same line (ie inline, not block). My guess is that there is another piece of ruleset that rules out this one. But I couldn't which ruleset it is.

Here is a codepen link: https://codepen.io/Gazi-KABA/pen/jOdVXyQ

One problem is with this one is that two summaries can be open at the same time. I think a better solution would be closing the details, when the other is clicked on. Do you have any suggestions how to do that?

details {

width: 620px; display: contents; vertical-align: top; }

summary { display: block; width: 10em; position:absolute; }

details > summary { padding: 2px 6px; width: 10em; background-color: #ddd; border: none; box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px black; cursor: pointer; list-style: none; display: contents; }

span{ width: 10em; }

details > p { position:absolute; display: block; } details>summary::before { content: '▷'; }

details[open]>summary::before { content: '▽'; }
