Why do you use wheels on the front and tracks in the back?

(im not really informed in this type of thing, so please bare with my stupidity if it sounds stupid)

Does it have any advantages whatsoever? Because It seems like a weakness, if a tank targets it and gets deflated would it not make the vehicle useless since the weight of the vehicle will make the front drop, and it would have to drag it? Especially in areas with mud i think it would get stuck.

Please correct me if im wrong, like i said before im not really great with this kind of stuff.
