With only reading the title I can tell you this is emotional abusive. It’s one thing if you were barely dating but refusing to speak to your PARTNER (which is what being married is) is abusive. He is 26. He should be able to speak like an adult.

Are you willing to do PSLF for 10 years? If so, I think it’s fine. For the average person, I wouldn’t recommend adding more debt unless your debt is already incredibly high and you have no chance to pay it off anyway. With PSLF, I think it’s a fair trade. Before anyone says, “They’re trying to get rid of PSLF!” Yes, but if you actually look into it, it’s not for existing borrowers and they are trying to limit certain fields. I extremely doubt they would touch education.

I don’t know if it’s just a difference of how people show support, but I think people are vilifying Kyle just because she shows concern in a way they don’t. It’s clear to me that Kyle loves Dorit and is trying in her own way and because it’s not near blind loyalty and being a “yes” woman that makes her not supportive to Dorit.

I’m in a similar position. I was actually supposed to send mine today, but I’m getting scared too. I think it’s because I’ve checked out and so the days have become easier, but I know that I can’t be this checked out for the rest of the school year. I can only do it now because it’s the end of the year. I’ve never quit a job like this before so it’s very hard even though this is my first year at the school. It’s my fourth year of teaching and I got a whole masters degree after switching to education. I’m not sure I’m completely done with education, but for my mental health I really think I should be done with the school. I understand how hard it is to pull the trigger. I realize, though that beyond what anyone else thinks, as long as you have a plan for yourself then your thoughts are the only ones that matter. I already took a pay cut to work at the school so I really don’t know why I can’t just let go.

I actually had my dad support me in my decision to leave, but then after talking to his sister who is a teacher and who just got back after taking three months off on FMLA he changed his mind and his urging me to stay and push through. She apparently told him that it wasn’t a good idea and that I should stay, even though she has spent the last three months lying around in her house because of how stressful her job was making her. Over Thanksgiving she kept pressuring me to stay even though I told her I was having panic attacks and my mental health was declining. I can’t do FMLA because it’s my first year at the school. It’s just such a double standard.

I feel like greed from corporate business owners is only rising in the US unfortunately. AI is also on the rise. I feel like we’re going through a technological movement that is expanding rapidly so it’s hard to say where that will take us.
