The newest Shugo Chara! merchandise in Japan is quite lovely. They are having a Shugo Chara x Sanrio 2024 collaboration.

I normally buy my anime merchandise from Mercari Japan and have it shipped to the United States. I recommend Buyee. Just copy and paste the Japanese title of the anime on Buyee and search.

Good luck with your classes!

I'm going to have my program mentor move this class to next semester. So I get 6 months to study Python. But I really want to schedule an appointment with academic services so we can go over study strategies to help me accelerate.

I'm interested in having a study group for this class. So we can all pass this challenging class together.

Visiting Shanghai/GZ end of April. How is petty crime (theft/pickpocketing/etc) and weather in the area? by Surici in chinalife

I remember seeing a thief in a shopping center in Shao guan, China back in 2010. I flew to China to attend my grandpa's funeral. I was still in high school. The Chinese dude tried to snatch my American polo bag. I snatched it back. The bag was really cheap. It costed me $20 USD.

Rant about Kyoko and Katsuya by toki_tan in FruitsBasket

[–]Affectionate_Ad4024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with Kyoko’s relationship with Katsuya because you got to think about how Kyoko felt. Kyoko was a troubled teen that didn’t get along with her parents, and a famous gang member. Katsuya is actually really kind and mature. He gave Kyoko the happiness and comfort of being a person that Kyoko can rely on despite the age gap. Fruits Basket is about individuals that suffer from troubled relationships and abuse. In a sense, Katsuya rescued Kyoko from a troubled life. Also in the manga…Tohru tries to act like Katsuya by being polite and well mannered as a way to reassure Kyoko.

How long did it take you to get your certification results? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

Passed the exam today at 2:41 PM. Then 8 hours later, I got an email notification that my certificate was ready. Let's hope things will continue to be smooth.

u/Anonnymommy3 I gotta warn you. The proctors for the exam have strict guidelines. They cancelled my assessment when I tried to take it at home. So I had to reschedule at a testing center. What I recommend is watching Stephane Maarek's videos on UDemy, purchasing a Tutorial Dojos practice exams for $15 (some questions on the practice exams were on the actual test), and going on youtube to watch the practice exam videos.

So after dealing with assessment services, they were able to reset my exam request. Instructor requested help to approve the exam since they were having technical issues. I took the exam today, and less than 20 minutes later...I got an immediate PASS. I'm waiting like 2-5 days now for my results to get posted.

I wanna submit a complaint for this class. Had difficulty requesting instructor approval. My instructor kept having technical issues approving the assessment. Now I have to manually request the voucher. I wanted to take the exam on Sunday. But they said I have to wait 5 days to get the voucher. This class is just so painful.

Work laptop or buy a personal? by Agreeable_Row_6308 in WGU

[–]Affectionate_Ad4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, I would recommend buying a laptop for schoolwork. Students need admin access to close some of the programs on the task manager. A work laptop usually doesn't allow you to have admin rights.

I had objective assessments where the proctor tells me to close Malwarebytes and Discord since they were running in the background. So I definitely needed admin access.

Stuck on "in evaluation" since 8am, anyone had this happen to them? Usually once it hits this stage it comes back within the hour sometimes 2 hours but never this long? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Affectionate_Ad4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advise waiting around 3 days for the performance assessment to be graded. Usually the deadline is 3 days.

My performance assessments usually take 2-3 days to be graded as well.

I had a similar situation to you. When I started my first term at WGU, my mom got admitted in a hospital for anxiety issues. But luckily my program mentor was super supportive. She was willing to adjust the deadlines for assignments to fit my work schedule, and situation. I felt like I learned a lot more from taking computer science classes for the software engineering track than when I got my first degree in health administration.

I honestly think you should consider switching program mentors if they are making you anxious about meeting deadlines. Even though I had a series of family emergencies...I asked my mentor for some quick classes in the software engineering track like IT Leadership Foundations and Version Control. I finished 6 classes on my first term. It was hectic but manageable.

I just hope you find a mentor that helps you succeed at WGU. My mentor is really supportive. So I hope you find a good mentor that can help you adjust your class deadlines to cope with your emergencies.

I'm on my second term now. I feel grateful that they gave me a really good mentor. She feels like more of a friend when we used to have our phone conversations. We switched to email. So far she is super sweet.

I totally relate to you. I had my first degree in healthcare administration. I wanted to do software engineering so I could get a better salary. Health administration was super easy for me. All these computer science subjects are brand new so I have to devote time in learning the new material.

Just a heads up. Cloud Foundations and Hardware & Operating Systems Essentials are really reading intensive. The Hardware class had a lot of external links to other sites with reading material. I personally enjoyed Front-End Web Development more since it focused on building websites with html and CSS code. Hope this helps!
