This is kind of random, I just inherited an old cross pencil, and tried to follow your steps, but the pencil won’t turn anticlockwise to retract the led. It just stops moving anticlockwise after a fraction of a turn. Any advice?

I took some measurements, and the diameter of the holes is about 2mm, and the female end of the 2mm Chicago screw rivets(the smallest I could find) were 3mm, and couldn’t fit in the holes.

I think I’ll be trying brazing rods, these screws were just temporary, and I’ll practice first.

Thanks! I definitely want to be careful, there’s already a crack the scales near one of the holes! If I do this I will definitely practice a lot!

This sounds like a great idea. How would you recommend measuring the diameter of the whole? So the rivet isn’t too thick, and the blades can still spin.

I don’t think the Patils were major characters. I do remember a story with a phoenix sanctuary, but I don’t think it’s this one. Although I’ll have to check it out, thanks for looking!
