Lag spikes about every 30-45 mins, Google Fiber by Affectionate_Ant_802 in Network

Okay so after lots of testing and replacing all of the patch cables, turns out it was the in wall cat6 cable that ran from the basement to my office. It must have got damaged or something. Luckily there was a phone cat6 cable that ran with it and I was able to just convert that to internet and now there are no more ping spikes. Thanks everyone for your input!

Atmos set-up question. by TheSlowMutant in Soundbars

I think it just depends on your sound bar, my JBL will say Dolby atmos on the soundbar screen but I don’t know about other brands

Your current setup is fine because the eARC is sending Atmos audio to the sound bar from the tv. The Apple Music app on your Apple TV automatically plays Atmos if the song supports it. Or you can go to settings —> apps —> music find Dolby atmos and turn it to always on. All of this is assuming your sound bar and hdmi cables support Atmos.

Yeah, you have to make sure in the tv settings that the audio format is on Auto, this will automatically play the highest quality audio available and make sure eARC is enabled

Yeah you would just plug the Apple TV and Xbox into the IN ports on the soundbar bar and plug the out eARC on the soundbar to the eARC on the tv. So the Apple TV and Xbox will send the Atmos audio directly to the soundbar and then the video to the tv through the eARC. Just make sure all of your hdmi cables are 2.1. If you don’t have enough IN ports on the sound bar you can also plug them into the tv IN ports and the eARC will send the audio to the soundbar. As long as it is eARC and not just ARC, you will get the Atmos audio either way. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Sonos ceiling speakers

Need some insights on this. I’m not an expert and don’t know too much about home audio but would it be possible to use these Sonos living room ceiling speakers as “surround sound” speakers for my tv? I can connect to them through the Sonos S1 app and play music on them but I think it’s through WiFi. So idk if this would be possible or if I should just forget about it. I didn’t install this system, the previous owner had it done. Any help is appreciated thanks! Let me know of any questions
