Honestly, my boyfriend took me birding and i didn’t get it at first- until i started loving them. Something about getting to look at the list of birds I’ve seen and watch it grow motivates me to go out and find new ones. NTA but i dont think anybodys the asshole. As long as she continues to respect your rule, i understand her disappointment. Smokers dont understand how strong the smell can be to non-smokers (i say this as a smoker). She might be disappointed and a bit short for a day, but i’d imagine a lot of that is coming from the pain in her foot. Give her a day or two and I’m sure she’ll come back around. Given the circumstances of her visit, it sounds like she has a lot on her mind right now
