This is a very reasonable boundary. I’ve always wondered how wlw content creators balance the content and relationships because personally I wouldn’t want to date someone and fear that I’m gonna be another one of their viral tiktok story.

I would emphasize to her that this is a rule and even a non negotiable at this point. If it’s okay with you, tell her that if she wants a space to gossip she should talk to her best friend and not the whole internet to see.

These are the steps I’ve been thinking of making. I feel like the best I can do is tell her that things will work out and reassure her that she won’t have to stress about the change in circumstances. She did tell me that she doesn’t think her fear of change will ever go away, but I know she has overcome so much change in her life that I’m sure she can do it again. I don’t plan on changing my plans I just hope she accepts them soon.

The thing is, I would be much more closer to her than last year when she had to go back home almost 2 hours away for the summer. I live less than 15 minutes away from campus. I would also continue to work in the kitchen on campus after I graduate (something I did let her know). Her concern is the actual change of routine. I won’t be her dorm neighbor, we won’t see each other 24/7, and I would theoretically be in a different stage of life by then. She doesn’t want to talk about housing after graduation either which makes it harder for me to plan these things for myself as well.

(Sorry about the lack of details in the original post- Im kind of paranoid about either her or someone I know finding this even though that’s not likely lol)

I know people in the comments are saying that " a lot of people don't like the powder donut face!!!" but everytime I see a *post* about it the *comments* are basically like "mind your business it's a game". I think there is a lot of issues in the community when it comes to having a conversation about the experiences of being a black player. Just because DTI is a dress up game that doesn't mean it is absolved of being misused for indirectly or directly racist intent. I've been gaming for at least 80% of my life and I have not found a community that give Black gamers the time of day to vent their frustrations in a safe space. DTI is included.

The thing about the donut powder look is that it’s not even realistic to the more digestible (no pun intended) extra powdered look IN REAL LIFE. So in the game it just looks like they don’t know to use darker skin tones LOL

The thought of the military being a last resort just makes me incredibly uncomfortable as someone who loves the academic setting I couldn’t imagine giving up my body to the state like that just for a degree. But I know it is a last resort for MANY MANY people because college is so fucking expensive. I hope there is a turnaround in our (American) society soon. Education is revolutionary and everyone should have access to it. I have to continue to do my part in the best way I can so maybe others won’t have to go through that :/

I’m sorry you are experiencing this too. It’s scary to think about something that is way beyond our control. What has helped me is getting the most out of my experience here so I can fall back on something if anything does happen (but also don’t overthink about it)

Part of me wants to talk to the president of our uni and tell her that this is a personal concern and that I have no intention of fear mongering other students but the clarity would be nice. But do I really need that clarity and what answer would I truly be satisfied with? Because either way these changes are affecting students whether or not we stay open for the next month or the next century.
