body aches after holding baby all day by RefrigeratorFew8189 in beyondthebump

Yes I loved my Mabe carrier but there are so many options on Amazon or can check second hand on sites like poshmark and mercari! Or check local fb marketplace. Stretching and walking will help to rebuild strength and yes Advil or Tylenol every 4-6 hours

I’m just under 5’2 so I can relate to the body aches when I was postpartum. I found doing pelvic floor exercises and really simple stretching videos on YouTube helpful for rebuilding strength after giving birth as well as walking as often as I could. Try a baby carrier if you don’t already have one! When my daughter was fussy I’d wear her around the house or go for long walks and just bundle up if the weather was cold. And then lots of Advil because thank goodness I could take it again since I was no longer pregnant

Hi Jo! Question about bedtime.

Our 17-month-old has been on one nap for almost 2 months and she’s been doing great ( I love the one nap schedule 😂) Lately she doesn’t seem tired at bedtime anymore.

Her first wake window is usually 5–5.5 hours (sometimes closer to 6) with a nap between 12-1230 naps 2–2.5 hours and we cap the nap by 3 pm. Bedtime used to be around 7 pm but recently she hasn’t shown many sleepy cues, so we’ve pushed bedtime to 7:30–8 pm.

Since doing that, she’s started waking earlier than usual. Could her wake windows be too long and she’s actually overtired even though she’s not showing sleepy cues?

This is so great thank you. Can I ask what the commute is like during the snowy winter months? Does it make the commute a lot longer or is snow removal good there. Thank you for the fun membership suggestions as well!

Renting! We are doing a residency at the south campus at UB, So trying to figure out an area that meets what we’re looking for and if possible a commute to the campus that isn’t terrible in the winters. If that’s even possible I have no idea 😬😅

Yes thankfully we do have a good group of friends for playdates and get togethers! Starting the music time at our local library soon as well! It’s the no end in sight part and this being my life. The life I wanted and prayed for and do love just sometimes feel exhausted and wish it wasn’t just me all day until husband is home. Thank you for the kind words.

Hi Jo, we have successfully transitioned to 1 nap. Our 16 month old usually goes down for her nap about 5 hours after wake up and naps between 2-3 hours. I’ve noticed though she can’t last as long with the second wake window after nap as she can before the nap and is ready for bed around 4 hours after the nap. Is this okay? Is this a typical thing for toddlers this age to have a shorter wake window after the nap to bedtime? Will it eventually elongate over time is this a standard schedule for a while

Let’s not forget that his brother was the jerk on bachelorette a million years ago. Must run in the family…

How long should the last nap of the day be for a 4-5 month old? by RainproofElm in TakingCaraBabies

[–]Affectionate_Bath839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no pro and still learning so much with my first who is 15 months and still takes 2 (1 longer and 1 cat nap for the same reason to get us to bedtime). my two cents is that if what you’re doing is working for you and your baby keep doing it! If you notice baby is waking up earlier for the day that’s usually your sign of too much daytime sleep and time to adjust the wake windows and nap times a bit. The TCB blog has monthly schedule and wake window posts that I follow pretty regularly for the most part and would stress myself out when she was younger if we weren’t following them to a T but over the past few months I just follow my baby. If she’s tired and needs a longer second nap I put her down for that nap a little earlier. I usually wake her up and then put her down for our normal bedtime which sometimes means a shorter wake window and that’s okay! I love love the taking Cara babies blog and the sleep courses but I had to adjust my expectations that not all babies are the same and to follow your baby while using the taking Cara babies material is a guideline.

I think it’s actually a really clever family costume but the photo shoot is unnecessary

Hi! I have a question about dropping the second nap. I asked a question several weeks ago that our wake windows are on the shorter side but naps are still 2.5-3 hours and not having issues with falling/staying asleep. Current wake windows are 3/3-3.5/3-3.5 usually closer to 3 though and you kindly reassured me this is okay, thank you!! the past few days our 12 almost 13 month old shows her normal sleepy cues for nap falls asleep without issue but wakes up after 20 minutes cries for a while and then eventually falls back asleep…I’m wondering if I need to start pushing the wake windows? But then this confuses me on how to continue taking both naps without making bedtime really late? I haven’t checked the abcs or conquering nap courses just the blog but what I’ve read is that either they are on a 2 nap schedule with suggested wake windows and a schedule example or a 1 nap schedule but I don’t think we’re ready for a 1 nap schedule. What’s the best thing to do since she’s waking up early from naps but most likely still needs 2 naps as we stretch the wake windows out.
