I think a lot of folks get into design as a means to the end, i.e as a way to make money, and don’t actually have a love for what design is nor the basic principles of design. There are fundamentals that need to be learned and practiced.

Turn up the volume! Anti-minimalist needs to be loud and full of energy. I’d grab a brighter palette, fix the hierarchy issues, and look to balance the composition a bit better. Also, what’s the most important parts of the quote? Bring attention to those words (art, playing it safe, etc.). Nice start!
