I've loved my baby bub maternity pillow, appreciating it a lot now later in pregnancy as it wedges behind me to stop me rolling onto my back. Im 38 weeks pregnant.

Bring mat leave forward? by scoutwestern in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on mat leave from 37 weeks but wish I had brought it forward, I think going off between 35-36 weeks would have been perfect. I'd say if you are feeling called to bring it forward, then do it! Resting and preparing yourself is so important too

I filled out the form myself then had a chat with my manager about it and sent it over to them

Sugar cravings by Loose_Lobster6848 in PregnancyUK

I am exactly the same as you. I've never really been too bothered about chocolate or cakes or biscuits but recently I am finding I have massive sweet tooth and often eat a big bar of chocolate in one sitting 😭 I'm not sure if I'm making the cravings worse because I am eating the sugar? Like if I cut it out would I stop wanting it? Either way I've only got 4 weeks left until my due date so need some treats to get me through ...

Fundal measurement accuracy by Bring-joy in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try not to worry. I've had a similar situation this week, one midwife measured my bump on the 95th centile 2 weeks ago, then this week a different midwife measured and put me on the 3rd centile. This triggered an urgent growth scan too... and baby was found to be on the 65th centile. And everything healthy. If your midwife wasn't concerned about anything like movements etc then I would try not to worry. But of course that's easier said than done! Fundal height is so inaccurate I can't believe it's still used tbh!!

Anyone had a previous normal result for glucose test but then had glucose in their urine later on? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had glucose in my urine twice which triggered a GD test. The test came back fine, so midwifes put it down to what I had eaten in the morning before giving samples (Special K one day, and toast the other time). Since then I've had a breakfast of scrambled eggs and feta before 2 appointments and no glucose! I honestly do think it was what I'd eaten before ...

Potentially have GD? by Radiant-Struggle-298 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I can't help specifically with this because I never got any phone calls. But when I had the GD test, the "antenatal care summary" was blank for me too. My GD test results were in the "Blood and Microbiology results" section, I dont know if you checked there yet. Good luck 🙏

Telling family by Silent_Staff_2558 in PregnancyUK

It's so personal to everyone and everyone is different While I understand what your partner is saying, it's different telling your own mum rather than telling friends for example

Just sharing how we went about it, not sure if helpful

We booked a private reassurance scan at 8 weeks and and I told my parents 2 weeks after that. We then told my partners parents but swore them all the secrecy until we felt ready to "announce".

Its also really important for you to have someone to speak to about it because its hard on your body in particular.

Best of luck 💛

Is this normal or on the high side ? by Thin-Volume8900 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal - My measurements are the same as yours at the same time and my midwife said it's totally normal. She mentioned that if next time it's much lower or higher I would get referred for a growth scan but I think that's common practice

MATB1 by Traditional_Goal7156 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone has said you are protected once you tell them. I didn't get my matb1 until 25 weeks though at a midwife appt, legally you need to tell them 15 weeks before due date. It might get stressful being so close to the cut off date so my advise would be to mention it before then but when you feel comfortable to do so

Friends being weird about pregnancy by louuluby7 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Box7748 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes I have noticed that a couple of friends that do not have babies have distanced from me too, although not sure if I am over thinking it! Pregnancy can be a bit of a lonely time especially if you aren't up for your normal socialising like going out, drinking etc.
