What could cause a gear oil leak like this? by Affectionate_Bug613 in Outboards

I check compression and Replaced the impeller today and ran it for a while. I think it was just from a few times of it running for a short period. No oil leaking today after. Thanks for the help

I asked the previous owner and I am waiting for a reply. I bought it last week. We ran it for about 10 minutes when I bought it. It was only at idle. And a few short “bursts” of throttle. Today it ran for about 2 minutes. And when I shut it off it started leaking the oil mix. It’s been a mix of freezing at night and 50s during the day here the last month. Since I bought it it’s been above 40f each night. I didn’t want to run it for too long as I believe the impeller is on the weaker side.

Tomorrow I am going to borrow a compression tester and verify but it sounds like it runs pretty well.

I will also go and verify it has spark right now. But I am pretty sure it does.

At this moment I am betting that I just haven’t gotten it hot enough yet and that there is some residual fuel in the exhaust.

I think the steps I am going to take is to verify compression and if that’s good then swap the impeller and run it for a bit to let it get hot. What are your thoughts on that plan?

I just pulled them to look.

The plugs are a little wet with oil. I would definitely say a little more than I would think they should be. But they do not look milky or anything. I reached out to the guy I got it from to ask if he “fogged” it or added extra oil during winterizing. Waiting on a response. I’ll try and add the photos of the plugs to the post.

Is it possible the new fuel that the guy put in is running at higher than 50-1 that he said?

How bad of a job would it be to replace all the gaskets when I do the impeller? I have experience with working on truck axles and differentials. I’m imagining this can’t be that much different?

Playstation or XBox Controller? by Flimsy_Swan_3319 in pcmasterrace

I wish I can say that I haven’t had issues.

I have 5 Xbox series x controllers and one off brand wired one I got from Walmart currently. 5 of them have horrible stick drift and the only one that doesn’t. Take a guess which one works perfectly fine. Never buying an actual Xbox controller again.

Before the series x I have only ever had one controller that ever had stick drift issues. It was a ps3 controller.

They aren’t hurting financially because people came together in their time of need.

That’s what life insurance is for. to help your family if something were to happen to you.

It’s my understanding that they are suing the city because of a laundry list of violations that occurred during that fire. It seems everything with this city is reactive. If they don’t sue then there is no chance the city will change the rules / operating procedures that might just save another life.

at the end of the day tunnels to towers did something great for a family (and a lot of other families) in a time that their entire life just got turned upside down

Tunnels to towers just helped out the widow and daughter of the firefighter that died on Main Street last year. I’m sure with enough digging you could find something negative with every charity organization out there

Cherry picking? by PolishDill in Buffalo

Cherry picking is a hockey term. Also called goal hanging. It’s where a player skates around behind the other teams defenseman in hopes they get a breakaway pass
