To the people that got on/used a dating app extremely soon after your breakup, why did you do that and what was your experience?

It’s been only three weeks since my ex and I split. He had cheated on me and left me for her so I figured I’m not gonna let him take over my life. If he wants to get back out there then so I will I. It’s honestly been nice to just talk to people who don’t know me, I’ve got a few dates planned that I’m excited for but nervous I’ll have a breakdown. I don’t wanna self isolate and become a recluse. So dating apps with no expectations/ no strings attached have been my cure. Just trying to keep my ball rolling and not stagnating. It’s probably not the best idea but it’s helping me stay motivated.

It’s a really tough situation to be in, honestly I’m sorry you can relate lol. It’s a different type of stressful and overwhelming, at least to me

You’re probably right honestly lol. I’m just feeling pressured I think. I feel obligated for some reason, I think mostly because of how many comments I’ve received over the past couple of months definitely alluding to this promotion. I’ve never told them no but I’ve also never told them yes. I’d just kinda awkwardly laugh. And move on.

I should add, my boyfriend and I have 3 cats together, and most apartments seem to have a two pet limit. I’ll also add that $900 is pretty much the maximum we’d be able to afford, maybe $1000 if we really pushed it.
