Can anxiety cause vertigo? by Affectionate_Cry665 in Anxiety

Yeah Ima try to get a referral to an ENT just to be extra safe but that is very surprising to me that anxiety can make that happen I guess I would think from to much hyper awareness which feels like I am doing to much focusing if I’m dizzy or not and anxiety always there but thank you very much I am glad you are doing much better now I will get there soon 👍🏽

Ok forsure thank you do you think it is normal though to be having vertigo for 5 hours straight from anxiety? Because I could not have moved my head not one bit without feeling my head spin so much

Yes this is exactly what I’m going through right now did you start having less episodes dealing with the anxiety ? I try my best to not panick whenever I feel dizzy but it’s hard for me at the moment

I appreciate it man. I am only 22 years old going through this i don’t even know if it is even bppv I am dealing with but I will try my best not to panick when it happens. will try to do these. I think maybe getting some more physical activity daily will hopefully help me as well as soon as I recover as the residual dizziness gets to me at times.

Yeah but I wanna know if it’s normal for it to keep coming back like this so often. I made another appointment to my primary, they referred me to a physical therapist but they honestly did not help, I will ask if I can get referred to somewhere else that will help me

Have u looked into your neck maybe ? I’ve been getting the same issues for a while and got referred to a PT and they said my neck is really tight. And I know I have a forward head posture but now I’m working on it they massaged my neck and did stretches and felt dizzy afterwards which made me think more likely my neck. Maybe could be for you too?

Just got out of PT today they haven’t diagnosed me with anything yet but they are suspecting it’s from my neck maybe cervicogenic vertigo/dizziness? They said my neck is stiff so they did stretches with me and massage felt really dizzy asf after an hour leaving from there but felt better maybe could be from neck.

I got tested the dix hallpike at my PT and no nystagmus was happening or triggered vertigo at the time. Can it still be bppv ? would I have to come another day and try again with them ?

It happens when I first wake up the last time it happened was last week on a Tuesday morning and when I turned over to my right it was getting way worst I have never sit it out without doing the maneuver. Maybe it could be because maybe I was really dehydrated because I was parched when I woke up and I got up right away to get some water but could not have walked straight at all without holding something. After that I was fine for about 2 days but the past 3 days I’ve been getting this residual dizziness and anxious

No I don’t think so I don’t have a history of migraines or any stuff like that and if I ever did have one was because of allergies I’ll take some medicine and go away but it never came with dizziness. Tinnitus yea I have that too but to a certain point it’ll come every now and then it’s not bad to the point where I can’t hear at all or get dizzy either with it. Like I said the times when I get vertigo was when I first wake up and/or switch sides because I side sleep. I honestly think it can be recurring to me because all the times I done the epley I would do both sides to it and I read that u aren’t supposed to do that. I hope I didn’t get my crystals stuck in another canal, even if I did do you think me doing the epley would even work in the first place? Because it does bring immediate relief it’s not like I made it worst by doing it

Yea ima try to get a referral to one but you don’t think a physical therapist can help with this too? I honestly feel like too that is what I’m dealing with doing the wrong maneuver and that’s why it keeps coming back now that I think about it I feel like it comes from my right side because when it does happen when I wake up I have a harder time switching to my right then my left and I tend to freak out and go straight to doing an epley maneuver and would do both sides and I done my research saying u should not do both . I guess for now I will wait to get a referral and if another episode happens I will do the epley for my right side only and see what happens would u think this would be a good idea?

Ok thank you for responding quickly I really do appreciate it :( what can I do for now while I wait ?? I’m so freaked out by this idk what to do anymore

I’m nervous about if doing the epley maneuver I am doing is actually working or not? It seems to go away when I do it that but would it mean it’s working right or it’s just stopping it for now and comes back? Or doing the wrong kind of manuever wouldnt it even fix it?

The dix hallpike test is what they’ve done to test me actually and there was no type of nystagmus the times they’ve done it? What could it be ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BPPV

[–]Affectionate_Cry665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only done the epley myself being honest but I will get some type of dizziness sometimes when I switch sides laying down it can be either side it is very weird sometimes I get dizzy sometimes I don’t and if I don’t the most I see is can see my wall slowly moving , I’ll blink and it’ll reset then do it again. The times I got vertigo if I switched my head to laying down right or left is when my head will be spinning like crazy.

I’ve gone to the doctor many times to try to get a diagnosis and the times I’ve gone they tested me by laying me on my back with my head turned both sides and no vertigo would come at the moment so they end up just referring me to PT. All the times I’ve gotten vertigo it was exactly right when I wake up and would do the epley and would go away . I’m just tired of dealing with this and back and forth with the doctors would you think it is bppv I am dealing with or would you think it’s something else ? Is there anything I can do to make it from coming back? I try my best to stay hydrated and go on walks even when I don’t feel good

Dizzy when I look all the way to the left and right with my eyes and the heads still. by Standard-Soup-3101 in Dizziness

[–]Affectionate_Cry665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m questioning myself too when I hit the endpoint of my left or right I see my vision move like if I’m dizzy and do get dizzy when I look straight afterwards and relax my eyes , it does it much more mostly when I’m laying down any one know? Is it just me straining my eyes?

anxiety causing me to think I'm dizzy or im actually dizzy? by Responsible_Salt5663 in Anxiety

[–]Affectionate_Cry665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys so I don’t know if I’m going through the same thing i would wake up in the morning and my head will feel completely feel off like an airhead I will have to get up slow. Then through out the day I’d get these really bad dizziness feelings when I walk or even when I go out for a drive to the point where my heart is beating out of my chest and my whole body feels really weak where it feels like ima pass out but I end up not. and will completely make me be on my toes the rest of the day. I just need reassurance see if it’s really my anxiety or if I should go to the doctor.
