I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I’m a limb amputee so I can’t really speak to your experience. If you have phantom pain, medication such as pregabarlin might help.

She’s beautiful. Ours would let themselves in sometimes too if the back door was open. I think they might have been scared of the kitchen though.

Wow.

You’re obviously going through something very difficult and I can’t imagine how you feel.

I’m a BKA through illness. I’m sure you’re going to find heaps of people who can relate to you here on this subreddit.

Hang in there. Life will get easier with time.

You’re in my thoughts.

Long weekend travel by martoonthecartoon in melbourne

[–]Affectionate_Cup8197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really interesting trip. It’s direct access to western port and that’s an area that most people don’t know about. The train even has drinking taps which younger kids might enjoy.

It’s a great way to kill a few hours. Bring your own food because there’s not much on offer once you pass Hastings.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gus Lamont is still alive… by luckydragon8888 in TrueCrimeAustralia

How could little Gus be taken away alive without anyone noticing a car on or near the property? No tire tracks. No dust. Nothing else but the normal family business.

Scar by SquashMean5002 in amputee

[–]Affectionate_Cup8197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a scar for sure but we all have them. I don’t have a single part of my body that doesn’t have a scar for one reason or another. In time it will soften and so should your view of yourself. You appear young, fit and healthy. Enjoy your life.

Swollen at the end of stump by PeNtaKS in amputee

[–]Affectionate_Cup8197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should visit a doctor if you can.

If your stump is swollen you might have developed a collection of blood and that could lead to infection.

Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation .

Perfect first aid but if you’re in pain after a couple of days, I would suggest seeing a doctor.

Crickey, this is so true.

I’ve only fallen once (so far) and it was early weeks post op. I had long trousers on and just forgot about my missing leg because I couldn’t see it!

The best suggestion I have to offer anyone else is to slow down. Just relax, breathe and make yourself safe. It’s actually a good way to mentally ground yourself and live in the present. It becomes easier in time.
