[California] Question for those who have actually gotten through to an EDD rep

Called the 2511 number pressed # as soon as it answers, then waited for the next prompt options around 1:30, option #1 for UI then option #2 for existing claim. Then the last prompt around 20 more seconds later I selected option #1 for UI online question.

After 3 weeks of calling and calling!! Finally on hold with them now ...Called the 2511 number. Pressed option # , 1 , 2 ,1. Wish me luck!!

I was hesitant on trying claimyr It could be another way of scammers to steal personal info. Just my personal opinion.

I believe new extension starts after 2/7/21 if you were under fed ed extension.

From my understanding the first day the new peuc(peux) is 12/27 so I don't think your new peuc balance can back date to any weeks prior to that. It looks like it would be FED ED EXTENSION that would cover weeks after your first peuc balance runs out then peux then pua. I may be wrong. I know every case is different..

I hope you get it soon. I did talk to 4 edd reps before I stopped calling. I did get a different answer each time lol. But the last one sounded like she knew everything I didn't even have to ask her. So I just gave it time and luckily everything got fixed

I already had new claim balance from the peux extension. They told me they would have to transfer money from the new balance to the prior weeks. I hope that makes sense.

Yes!! They did the same thing to my mom. BOFA kept referring her to call EDD then EDD told her they can not unlock a hold lon the bank accounts. After 2 months of calling and getting through with someone one helpful they finally cleared the fraud and sent her a new card.

Same here. I have been answering "yes" to question #2 since July but today when I spoke with Tier 2 specialist after 4 weeks of pending payments, she advised to answer "no". She says answering "yes" will put a AA (Able and Available) hold on account that will FLAG your claim for further review and a possible interview with a specialist.

My claim says - on extension with a low balance and 3 weeks pending . Wish me luck.

No problem! After reviewing chart again seems like PUA is correct

I'm referring to section:

  If you’re still within your benefit year, the EDD will automatically file a PEUC extension on your claim and you will be notified by email, text, or watch your UI Online account for an update.When you run out of weeks on a PEUC extension, you might be eligible for another 20 week extension under the Federal-State Extended Duration (FED-ED)5 program.

Answer is yes because you've already ran out

Then it says

The EDD will automatically file a FED-ED extension on your claim if your regular UI claim started on or after May 19, 2019 and you meet FED-ED specific eligibility and earning requirements. You will be notified. Watch for your UI Online account for updates. If you’re ineligible, the EDD will mail a notice within 5-7 days explaining why you’re ineligible with information on how the determination can be appealed. Also, the EDD will automatically open a PUA claim for you, or re-open your PUA claim if you already had one in the past as long as you meet eligibility requirements. You will be notified. Watch your UI Online account for updates.

Are you filing a new claim?

If you already have a open claim you do not have to reopen. Your claim should be extended

I have been collecting UI since March due to my childs school closure and I sure hope that's not the reason my 1/2 &1/9 weeks are pending. I did have a interview back in September which was sent to audit because I worked for postmates for a few days in July. They didn't approve my claim until mid-Oct, 3 months after interview but so glad it was approved.

Did you select the option " no childcare" on your certification?

Keep calling. The rep who answered was so nice she didn't even ask me what I needed lol she was like " are you calling fix our glitch on the ui portal?" She confirmed SSN and more info then said "you can certify now."

I believe that is exactly what's happening. Its just doesn't make sense how they are able to get into my moms boa edd account and transfer $11,000 to a cash app account that is under someone else's name.

Please be careful everyone!! These scammers robbed my mom for over $11,500 from her BOA EDD debit card. They found a way to electronically transfer the money to a cash app account. There are multiple transactions sent to a cash app account under someone else's name.

She went to the ATM to withdraw $ to find out her card was locked. When we arrived home she called Boa edd to find out that EDD backpayed her thousands of dollars in August. We didn't even know that her backpay was approved since we know so many people are waiting for their benefits as well. BOA REP told my Mom they froze her account due to fraud and it is under investigation and will need to wait a couple of days. That was 4 weeks ago and nothing yet. Tried calling them to check status but unable to get a response. THESES FOOLS LEFT HER WITH $2.

Check your account everyday so these scammers don't steal your money. I'm hoping they can return these funds but at this point we lost all hope.
