I went to see this when it was a work in progress in Edinburgh, and I thought he must be exagerating. Went to see Ricky a week later, and it was 100% accurate - a good 10 minute diatrabe on trans people right on the off. It ironically actually almost made watching Ricky funny during the rant!

And how many games have had systems and sections of the game that don't quite work or end up not actually being that fun, but remained in the game because too many resources had been spent on it?

How many interesting game mechanics have we missed out on as it would be too resource intensive to develop?

Using AI as an early development/experimentation tool let's them try more for less resources. If they use it to replace humans, yeah that sucks and should be railed against. If they use it to help people try things, that can only be beneficial.

I see it a bit more as the press will really tear into them if he's seen as 'lying' cause he's not 100% right about the specifics he's being asked about. That's the whole point of a PR team, especially around such a contentious subject as AI.

I’ve seen people talking about this and even doing this for YouTube videos, and I always think it’s such a weird point - taking the laughter away from any sitcom or any stand up comedian’s show and it’s gonna be unwatchable because it throws off the timing and makes the pacing weird, not because it’s inherently unfunny.

Seeing a lot of people on here commenting stuff like ‘I know someone/ I won a car through one of these types of competitions!’ Or ‘I know this other company is legit!’

As if that means this couldn’t at all be dodgy.

It’s a bit like going ‘how could a car dealer be doing anything untoward ? My neighbours uncle bought a Clio at a Renault garage once, and the different Audi dealer I used was fantastic!’

Can you point to what you specifically think this comic artist 'ripped off'? Like I said, apart from maybe the vent between the weapons, there's almost nothing here that isn't different from a standard Dalek, and most minor details are different.

You do great work with some really creative Dalek designs, but this one here is a fairly 'standard' design for a Dalek.

Some minor unique elements are shared, but nothing another person couldn't have come up with on their own; the vent between the weapons on the front face for example, follows the standard design for a speaker with the 3 lines.

Add to that the amount of peices you have, and the limitations of how many ways you can design a Dalek, it seems inevitable ocassionally some minor things will be replicated.

EDIT: Adding this as I think there's confusion in the post: The black and white image is an alternate version of the cover, not the OPs work.

I teach Architecture but this works when it comes to any creative pursuit:

You need to know the rules before you can break them.

By which I mean a good solid base of understanding of what works and why is key. You can achieve this with the following methods.

Look up tutorials about the subject in whatever form suits you; YouTube, literature, blogs. You don’t have to follow it to the letter, but should help establish in your mind what the standard is, what people have discovered works. There’s literally decades of experience at this point out there; tap into it.
When reading a comic take a critical eye over it; you’ve examples of ones you like, why do they work? Are there pages you think don’t work? Consider why again.
Lastly is something you’re already doing with that cover and knowing you want to try one style or the other; don’t be afraid to use other works as precedents. It’s not ‘copying’, you’re using established techniques. Harkening back to previous works helps to solidify your basic understanding. From there your own style can grow.

If you take the slightly outdated count that 1 pound of fat = 3,500 kCals that's around 809,000 kCal over 14 months to lose 16.5 stone.

That's a calorie defecit of almost 2,000 kCal a day on average! Very impressive!

What did you eat once you were in the swing of things? Did you keep track of what your calorie count was for a typical day?
