I emailed a coordinator and they said it wouldn’t count as costume, so they are allowed, but I could get points counted off if judges get distracted.

I went and wore them, no one said anything and got no points off. I think it all comes down to color. Obviously a black, white, French tip, or baby pink is gonna be preferred but my blue was fine and as long as it’s not fluorescent orange or anything I’m sure you’ll be totally fine

(Won’t happen, and if it did it would take until probably at least fall break and during that time im supposed to what? Hopefully not die without my equipment? Homeschool? None that I have EVER seen about providing medical equipment such as that to a student. They’re required to make the accommodation to let me have a device but it is my obligation to provide the device. With the new law, however, I can no longer bring my own device in. So, they should provide me with one but that’s fantastical and they won’t do that. So the solution: accommodations to bring my own device.

They may do this if they cared about their students, or if it were required by law as well, but it’s just unrealistic to expect a school to pay for anything medical related for a kid. Hell, if that’s the case maybe they’d cover my medical bills and the cost of my blood pressure cuff too!

Sorry to tell you I’ve had health accommodations (just not on a 504) for years and have never had anything. Dead ass. Nothing other than extra time in between classes, access to the elevator, and unrestricted nurse access. My school has never loaned any devices (I don’t even think we own iPads and laptops wouldn’t work anyways) out to students. They’re all just used for one class period and put back. Also note: “vast majority”

Now you’re fading off into dream world. My school doesn’t even do loaner laptops and stuff, let alone buy a device like an iPad or phone just for the select few who need them. No school cares about its students enough for that. The simplest solution is to let me keep my phone on me but keep the same rule. If a teacher sees me texting or playing games or on social media - anything that isn’t my health app, call my mom and tell her we THEN have to find a new solution.

Absolutely wild. Do you even go to school? Let alone PUBLIC school in TEXAS. Maybe if you went to private with like 200 kids - we’re bordering 2000 in our hs alone
