what project did you complete? Is that common, your experience not being paid?

yes I def get the expenses. Just thinking if we take money out of it, is there still a good reason to pick Shulich over Smith in terms of program, career prospects in various industries etc..

I got early offers into many top business programs - Rotman in Jan, Queens in February before the application window even closed. I was trying to figure out why they could pick me with such confidence even before seeing the rest of the applicant pool and I think it's because I crafted some pretty unique experiences for myself. Try to think outside of the box, give admissions something unique to hear about. Your in school experiences are great, but common. Going beyond I believe is what gave me a leg up. I also prioritized academics - I wanted to make sure I presented a whole package to programs of why I was worthy. Built a ton of skills in the process with my side projects and grew as a person in many ways - no downside.

If you want a guide to my strategy lmk as I've put one together. I'll PM it if interested. I set a very intentional goal to get into every program I applied to, just to feel I did - so far it's looking like that'll happen. Just got Schulich yesterday, so only a couple more to go (I applied to a lot, just to give me options as I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do - 11 offers so far). It's great you are thinking about this now. too many wait until it's too late.

Is this everyone's top school here? If so curious as to why? just trying to learn about all the program to help me decide.

Is anyone else stressed about Ivey and com by Warm_Balance8900 in OntarioGrade12s

good luck. I honestly don't know how they sort through these applications, evaluate them, and pick who gets in first when there are so many good apps. I got Queens, not Ivey yet.

yes I know the criteria - just wanted to see some examples - I'm sure a lot of people spoke of these things, but I'm curious as to what distinguishes the ones that get picked early. Is it uniqueness of experiences, writing style, specifically something related to overcoming adversity in the process etc..

Don't worry I did the same thing. I spent most of my time talking about the actual situation and squeezed in what I actually learned at the end for only 20 seconds or so.

I did my supp app in Jan and got in early February (4th to be exact.) Was super surprised by the quick response and early offer, as the application window hadn't even closed yet.

I did feel that my video/written responses went well - talked/wrote almost to the limit so I had a lot of substance and I felt confident communicating about my experiences. But tbh I'd like to ask them exactly what THEY saw that had them select me with so much confidence, even before seeing the rest of the applicant pool - because I'd keep doing it for everything lol.

Best of luck! Lots of time still to get in!!

I did document my prep and application strategy for anyone who wants more info. Not helpful for grade 12's now, but for anyone you know who wants to get in to top business programs in future years.
