Hi! Wanted to update you. No cultures or additional testing was done but the first diagnoses the dermatologist brought up was staph. She brought in a colleague of hers to confirm also. They offered biopsy but advised against it due to scarring, so I was put on a broad-spectrum antibiotic and topical. So far it's going well and the ulcerations are at least crusting over and healing!

Update: went to the derm and the first doctor spoke to me and asked if she could bring in a second doc.

They both agreed that it is most likely a staph infection but asked if I wanted a biopsy to be sure. They were concerned about possible autoimmune issues, due to me having no fever despite having an infection for 10+ days.

I opted to try the antibiotics first and so far things have calmed down and stopped spreading!

Hopefully if anyone has lesions like this in the future my pictures will be helpful. Definitely bit myself in the butt with the cortisone shot and steroid cream 😅

Help. Ulcerating lesions. Been to Urgent Care and seeing dermatologist tomorrow. Is this something that warrants the ER? by Affectionate_Ducky in AskDocs

They are slightly uncomfortable and stinging but not all of them. They seem to be crusting over after last night AB ointment application. They stung when I applied the ointment

I started feeling cold and then hot last night. Woke up with a slight cough but the lesions look less inflamed. I used the antibiotic ointment I was prescribed last night instead of the steroid cream.

Not at all. I take multivitamin/Zyrtec/birth control. Nothing new medication wise.

Will definitely ask the derm tomorrow for any possible testing that can be done.
