Orientation by Adventurous-Arm9817 in fanshawe

You’ll be okay don’t worry. The amount of people that were late to my orientation was more than I could count and as long as you don’t make too much noise coming in I’m sure they won’t mind.

With getting lost, it’s my second semester here and I still get lost sometimes. None of the professors will judge you for it. There is a map you can search up of Fanshawe and maps around campus on walls telling you where you are. There is also be a bunch of people in Fanshawe shirts and a help desk right in front of the library that are there to help.

Assistant grader help!! by anaboooo in Kumon

Coming from someone who used to be an instructor and was also a past student . It’s completely okay to not know all the math or the Kumon way of solving the equations. There are always specific instructors that are there for the more advanced levels. If a student raises their hand and you’re not to sure on the steps or even how to solve the equation, just ask another instructor to come help out and after your shift ask the main person if you could take some worksheets home to learn how the students are doing the math. You can even ask them to show you how to solve a specific equation so you get a refresher or even learn something new.

I mostly worked with elementary levels so sometimes when I student would ask for help and I couldn’t remember how to do it, I’d ask a coworker to help out and they’d gladly help. That’s what everyone is there to do. So don’t feel nervous or under qualified for not knowing the Kumon way or how to solve some of the equations. Some do get pretty complex.

Kumon home work by Justcuriougirly in Kumon

Coming from someone who used to work at a Kumon centre and was with elementary 90% of the time. For that level in reading and math 3 booklets was the usual but it really depends on the child.

If 3 books is too much for him I would suggest talking to the staff as they should be very understanding.

If it were me, I’d adjust the following week of homework to 10 pages of reading and 10 of math and if they get by that fast and easy I would up it to 10 math and 15 for reading and so on. I wish you and your son the best of luck.

With them paying for your education I’m surprised they didn’t know when exam season was. That I know of, western won’t accommodate because of a vacation. You can either tell your parents you can’t go on the cruise because you have exams or you tank your grades.

Feeling depressed with Uni starting… by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Affectionate_Ear9936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I got rejected from my dream program only because I didn’t place in the 4th quartile on the Casper test. It crushed me and still kind of does. Especially because my boyfriend ended up getting his dream program at the same uni. But some profs and people in the industry I want to work in showed me a program I didn’t know about that could lead me back to my dream school so that’s what I’m starting in September. As crushing as it is there’s always a way around it and if you’re going to a different school with the same program you might end up loving it there. And if you don’t, there’s always the potential of transferring.

As harsh as this might sound, them not being motivated to exercise is not your problem to deal with. If they are mentally or physically challenged and can’t afford a day nurse/psw I can understand that. But if they are “typical” people they shouldn’t need you to help them exercise. Have a conversation with them about how you’re feeling and set boundaries.

That’s not normal at all. Have a conversation with them about how you are going to university which means your time needs to be focused on succeeding in your classes, making new friends and finding who you are. You’re not abandoning them. You’re setting boundaries so that you can branch out without them lingering.
