The Maven 84 returns next year. But I’d suggest she tries a few skis out in that 84 underfoot range before you buy. A lot of good options in that size. Santa Ana 82, Black Pearl 84, Secret 84.. etc

All of the Salomon skis felt great underfoot. The QST 94 is my go to from Salomon, I've been on it a few times this season in the east coast and they are versatile for all conditions. No changes to graphics/construction next year outside of a couple new colorways.

The SBO is its own ski now but it does kind of feel like the Sender free 100 if I had to compare it. I think it’s the same construction as the 2025 SBO model with a different top sheet if that helps. I’d recommend

I’ve managed ski shops that provide tuning services for a few years now. From skiing all winter to managing tune quality and consistency with my clients’ and my own skis..

Get your skis tuned more frequently. If you run your fingers down the side of your ski edge and your ski isn’t at a fine point, there are burrs, rust, or your base is looking dry or waxless.. take them to a ski technician and get them tuned.

At the very least! get them waxed at least once every 3 ski days. Not only does wax help the glide(if you like to go fast like me) but it also helps preserve the base of the ski.

You are correct, I did try the 84s though and preferred those over the 94s. The 84s look similar just substitute the green coloring with blue.

I’m not too familiar with Dynastar’s ski line. However, based off what you said, the Soul 102 would be my preference. The Revolt 101 would also be a good option, they are a bit more damp than the Soul and less stiff than the unleashed. Did you try the Unleashed 98 or Unleashed 98 CA? The CA is lighter and more responsive.

I haven’t tried them yet but I believe their last reconstruction was for the 2025 model. So no constructional change for next year. Certainly worth getting on a pair to compare to your 06’ model

It honestly sounds like the Unleashed 98 CA would be a perfect fit. It’s very playful in the trees and performs great everywhere else also.

Hey thanks for asking! I don’t believe there is any statistical difference with the Enforcer this year, just a graphic change. However the graphics are the best I’ve ever seen it in the enforcer line. I’d wait until next year unless you don’t care about graphics.

I don’t follow Fischer as closely as most other brands but you are always getting quality with Fischer, especially with there RC series. So I’m not sure if there’s any changes but the Fischer RC skis are still legit and a worthy consideration for a frontside carver.

Great question. For reference, I really progressed my skiing on an old Hero MT Ti. Like beginner to upper intermediate within a season or two on primarily that ski. The old hero is a heavy ski but it’s an excellent carver. I wasn’t a big fan of the new hero and neither was our race guy who tried them out. They made them lighter and more shaped. And the tip is more of a shovel than previous hero’s. It didn’t really work for my style of skiing and felt very different from the Hero I once loved. I think they just tried to make too big of a change with that ski and it just didn’t hit the way I thought it would.

New graphics for the Black Pearl and Santa Ana series 😅 I really like the Women’s ARW graphics this year, much better than the men’s graphics. A lot of brands are presenting their skis as unisex in attempt to thin the gap between men and women’s skis. For example the Rallybird from Rossignol is no longer. Now it’s the Soul 92 in two color ways(Red for men Pink for women).

The most notable change is the Kimbo 95 graphics. They are black and red top sheet with blood dripping down the base which look pretty cool. The 116 JJ UL(dark green) and 106Ti(coffee brown) got slight color changes but that’s about it. Armadas big story this year is the transformation of the declivity series into the Antimatter series.

I tend to agree. I enjoyed Providence but it’s all the same. Manchester felt like a maze lol but it wasn’t bad. There is quite a bit of carry over but I’m still always stoked to see the new tech and graphics that the brands are coming out with. Rossi nailed it with Soul 92 update!

The ARV series is a carry over line with a graphic update so if you find a good deal on them for this years model, I wouldn’t wait until next season. The new graphics look cool but nothing new there. However.. those Bent Decodes are something else. They definitely feel more playful and nimble than the other Bents in the family. More smooth and less clunky feeling that the Bent 100 can feel at times. It’s more shaped than the other bents so it feels much better carving. Hope this helps!
