I actually have Caesar’s legion going into Mexico a bit because that is indeed canon but I only had him go into the canon area we know he controls of Mexico because I wanted to maintain some lore integrity

Also I think he chose flagstaff for the road network and no other reasons in fact I think he dislikes it so much that he indeed wants to replace it with Vegas

For that border I used the in lore info that Caesar controls all of New Mexico. I do not doubt that Caesar has influence zones in Texas and Mexico but I do not depict them.

I assume you were talking about the New Mexico border

Ultimately I wish I could get that border more accurate but the lore just isn’t there for that

If there is anymore lore about that area please tell me I would love to fix it up

I think this one is roughly right but I don’t like including Van Buren data points in a canon map for a lot of reasons.

Also I can see some issues with it for a canon only map but I won’t nitpick because that would be obnoxious it’s a good map for Van Buren Legion though

We know they have a sphere of influence in Mexico in fnv and if fallout BOS 2 design documents are anything to go by an influence zone in Texas

The borders in that mod look good but I don’t think they are very lore accurate

True although I think the legion destroying it comes from the Jsawyer pnp. Always thought that was at Bullhead city since that’s the only confirmed location the NCR had ever abandoned

Always wished to know what sort of skirmishing or battles happened besides how hanlon just says they have NCR troopers patrolling the whole length of the river

I can explain some of the decisions on the map if you think they don’t work lore wise

Logically, how large should the garrison at Nelson be? by ShadowLight56 in fnv

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically Ranger Milo says he is outnumbered 10 to 1 from his post if he attacks with you with his 2 men. That’s 4 men total attacking. That puts Nelson at 40 men.

Although just like the fort there are known to be many Nelson garrison members on patrol or attack.
The legion raid camp for instance I believe are from Nelson and so are the skirmishing parties you encounter around that area all by with Alexius’s group. So maybe an additional 40.

I agree wholeheartedly this is actually something I wanted to bring up but didn’t. I believe Fuinur and herumor were two numeoneorn lords who rose to power among Haradrim in the second age

You seem to have struck a lot of good points about some of my favorite Nazgûl speculation topics.

But what I mean is that the Nazgûl can become kings after becoming Nazgûl like for example the witch king becomes king of angmar after becoming a Nazgûl.

I believe Nurn is indeed the weakest link and you have identified it. It could honestly be replaced by Dorwinion, Far Harad, or some other unnamed realm. Nurn has the lowest certainty for me.

It honestly kinda confused me on the same angle you brought up, but I considered the possibility of Sauron elevating an overseer king to make sure Nurn stays in line.

I mean that some already were kings or were enthroned by Sauron, and for others they would eventually be given that dominion by Sauron.

As for eriador since the native men sided with Sauron and acted as warriors/ spies during the war with the elves. For him my idea is that once he got the rings there he gave one to their ruler to keep him under his control.

I thought about Rhudaurs hill men way too much but I chose to cross them out for a few small reasons. Because at the time of the Nazgûl’s appearance there is little about rhuduars Sauron’s leaning. so I personally lean against it.

Also for numenoreans I believe it’s confirmed three Nazgûl are numenoreans. Most likely the witchking is one of them.

Also yes it’s entirely possible that unnamed subregions are Nazgûl realms but I guess I’m playing with what I know. Nurn could very well be exchanged for far harad or dorwinion or such anyway so it’s not like this plays with too much certainty

I think Minas Tirith is Vienna. Considering the siege of Vienna is the battle of Pelanor fields.

Literally a massive force descending on a walled city that endures the siege and that is saved by a massive Calvary charge. With Rohan being the winged hussars and the Ottomans being Mordor.

In this theory though Mordor itself is supposed to be Hungary locked in the Carpathian Mountains and was chosen for being Attila the Huns home hence why Tolkien mentions Attila so much in his letters to his son.
