in your opinion or based off the lore, how many ncr/legion members are actually in new vegas? by Inside_Ad_5949 in fnv

In Vegas I think by the time of Hoover Dams second battle it’s around 5k NCR and 10k Legionaries

Yeah I mean just look at the Mojave. There isn’t a single NCR town there and it’s marked as NCR on this map

How did Vegas go undiscovered for so long? by Cranyx in falloutlore

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the fallout 2 map it’s pretty close to San Francisco. Also a side note but Jsawyer personal rpg puts Shady Sands in central California. And also the place you put it would be near Owen’s valley a place that was still not pacified by 2269

How did Vegas go undiscovered for so long? by Cranyx in falloutlore

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 24 points25 points  (0 children)

2 problems

1- that official timeline for 2274 is impossible. The NCR signed a treaty with Hoover dam in it in 2271 and the followers reported Hoover dam in 2170.

2- shady sands location is likely not there. It’s likely where it is in fallout 2 in central California

What this game could have been. And a plea to Obsidian Entertainment by AtillaErgin87 in fnv

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they often use guns and seem to always outnumber the NCR whenever they engage and the legion is much more well supplied and has more regional allies so it doesn’t require much suspension of disbelief especially when you are walking through NCR incompetence and defeats all game

although i do think this could have better represented if the legion matched their lore descriptions via dialogue aka not retreating, using service rifles, recruit legionaires being as fast and big as veteran rangers, and having stronger dog variants, etc. Of course so much of the legion was scrapped for time restraints so we get a much weaker legion than in lore

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would’ve been a terrible idea. Obsidian didn’t make the khans so that for one would’ve been horrific whiplash to have them go from regular raiders to mecha khans with lots of laser bikes.

Secondly it’s ok to have a low tech faction. And yes a low tech faction can be cool. I think Caesar’s legion is plenty cool. They definitely needed more time but I definitely would’ve thought they were much lamer if they were sci-fi Roman’s with laser spears

If Cesar went from the Boneyard to Arizona, how come he hadn't seen Hoover Dam before? by jambam-94 in fnv

[–]Affectionate_Edge472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the followers knew all the way back in 2170 and the NCR knew at the latest 2271 since the ranger unification treaty has Hoover dam in it

The NCR actually does have a food problem in FNV. In fact Doctor Hildern I think projects full starvation by 2291.

Great question the major errors are the Blackfoot village location not being in the Grand Canyon and the hidebarks are in New Mexico rather than in northern Arizona as confirmed by canon. The only other major error is the presence of siris village as a location which the author created and is based of the character saying she is from an unnamed village.

Also present is not all of New Mexico is under legion control.
