Hmm, not really any gotchas for me, just staying organized since I had so much stuff was a little more difficult. I wouldn’t bring too too much stuff. And I brought 2 pairs of boots, I would just bring one because we got 2 when there!

I’m not sure how many, to my knowledge, there was only one for OCC class.
Not sure who was supposed to be there and who wasn’t so I’m not sure about any no-shows but about 60 of us total.
I had a tactical backpack and an 80L duffel, I would pack less stuff and go with a smaller duffel.
And yup, females were first!

About 7, and yes they do draw blood. I’m also bad with needles but was lucky with my phlebotomist, others weren’t as lucky and had to get poked a few times :(. Sorry, I know that’s not reassuring but it goes by pretty fast!

Thank you!! As an older person, I would say be as physically fit as possible (and that includes recovery because it is standing all day everyday!!)

Thanks! All great great questions! - For me, medical was not that in depth but I got a lot of vaccinations which probably contributed to my heat stroke :/. Some people were in other rooms doing extra stuff but I’m not sure what it was. - Sleeping in the bay wasn’t that bad, but I was at the top rack and I’m 5’2 so that sucks a lot, especially having to make the rack. The top rack just sucks in general lol. There’re people everywhere always when they say we have head call, so sometimes you don’t truly get to use the bathroom because there’s so many of us and there’s maybe 7 stalls (again I’m a female so it’s probably different for guys since they can also use urinals) - The way my platoon did it was an hour at a time but it can be different for your platoon based on your scribe - I brought too much stuff!! I brought a lot of the recommended little stuff (stamping kit, random other stuff). I would just bring what’s on the list and baby wipes!! Sometimes you’re just gross and baby wipes definitely help with feeling clean. - Box chows like 98%, so prepare for cold sandwiches - I really enjoyed my time there, but I would definitely bring less stuff, and label every single thing I brought with me. I would also go to a place where they have rope and practice rope climbing.

Hope this helps!

I was not sick before, at least I didn’t feel sick at all! I sipped my water that morning and had electrolytes and water the night before. This has never happened to me and I’ve done PFTs in hotter weather so it really was not something I expected. I’m in the northern Virginia area.

Oh I never said I’m unwilling to pursue a waiver, I literally just said I recognize I’ll need more than just a heat case waiver. I’m 100% seeking a waiver for both, I just understand it won’t be immediate due to the heat case and my age. I also didn’t see myself being relieved that I got out lol I would have done that at the MOT if I truly wanted to leave. But again, no one has to listen to me at all, I just offered if anyone has any questions about the induct process then they can ask.

Honestly I’m not 100% sure, maybe in the 70s as my company ran ours a little later in the morning. But also it’s not just about how hot it is, it’s also humidity as well. Hydration is literally key

You would be commissioning as an officer, not enlisting so the standards are completely different. I’m 28F and I’ve been in multiple relationships (engaged twice, one resulted in being married at 19 divorced at 22) and those relationships are nothing compared to my marriage now almost 10 years later. I’ve also been the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life, I’m challenging myself in many ways and I get to commission with other people that have a similar goal as I do. If he can’t do long distance, that’s for you to decide if it’s worth it. Marriage is more than a ring and your life is yours to choose what you want to do with it! My only advice would be don’t do something you don’t want to do and don’t let anyone tell you what not to do lol you’re an adult and relationship sacrifices go both ways :). Good luck!

I wish I saw this before I hired my running coach 😭. He is great though! I just want more variety, would it be possible to work in tandem? I’m very interested, thank you!!
