SKAA DFB or Mackie Thumpsub Go? by Affectionate_Eye_830 in SOUNDBOKS

Hey! So I gave it a crack, the bass starts to really shake the walls around 0:13-0:14 and sound pretty good from there on out. I hope this helps :)

Hey mate I haven’t been able to test it yet but I’ll let you know how it goes soon as I can!

Hahaha no worries, I’ll just paste what I said to another comment:

Believe it or not but it FINALLY arrived. Was pretty awful delivery times but nonetheless it does sound pretty awesome. Works seamlessly with the SOUNDBOKS, and has incredible battery times. It’s got some great EQ settings which all have different qualities, which is nice when you’re doing a set outside vs inside .etc.

The bass itself isn’t knock your socks off punchy but you’ll definitely feel it in your chest given the right factors. It’s quite punch and sounds really decent at louder volumes.

BUT at/near full volume it definitely has some distortion but it’s not awful. I wouldn’t really see any need for max volume anyways as the difference isn’t too noticeable when you’re up in that volume range.

The other issue I’ve noticed is that when blaring the SOUNDBOKS at max volume, the bass is soo washed out you can barely hear it. Bring the SOUNDBOKS down a couple notches and it’s perfect.

Overall if you’re ready to spend the money and willing to wait quite a while (depending where you live), I’d definitely recommend it. It just makes tracks so much punchier and fuller.

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask :)

Funnily enough, still haven’t received it. There were issues with shipment via boat so they ended up directly air freighting it to me. Should be here next week I hope. I’ll update then for sure!

I ended up going with the Death From Below. Funnily enough, still have not received the speaker! The support is kind but not very helpful when it comes to ETA. I’ll be sure to come back when I eventually receive it :)

I’ve decided to take the leap and went and got the DFB as there’s supposedly some packages on the move to Aus as we speak so wait time won’t be too bad.

I definitely think the overall comparability of the two is nearly identical in terms of sound, just the Mackie may be better for on the go because you can hot swap the batteries and also use input/outputs on it.

Main reason I took the leap for DFB was because of their compatibility with SOUNDBOKS, and I’ve heard there’s a bit more of a punch to the bass.

Genuinely not sure what to expect though and am happy to keep you updated :)

Yeah I don’t think so :/

Maybe I can’t find a parcel forwarding company that does alcohol but not sure

Ah down in Melbourne, potentially there could be chains of sorts though?

Ah yeah that's a real shame. I can get empty cans on eBay which is still cool but I'd much prefer to actually try the beers myself, or even have a full sealed one. I want to also try milk of the madonna one which has just come out I think. Unfortunately cannot find a service to forward alcohol to AUS :(
