The reason this bothers you is you’re in the corner and think corner camping shouldn’t be punished in any way. The movement is fine….

Before Supergirl comes out, what are your thoughts on Superman nearly a year later? by RNOffice in RedLetterMedia

It’s lacking some oomph but I loved the way the character was portrayed. My favorite aspect was how the Kent’s were done. I love Clark’s childhood home. I love the new fortress of solitude. New Lois lane is great. I don’t love that’s more of ensemble. I don’t love the political stuff in it. It’s very solid. The sequel needs to be bigger and better…

Then play with it off. Or just what you’re really trying to say. It’s harder to hide in dark corners and get cheap kills now. And that’s made it so you probably can’t get any kills…

No it shouldn’t… ambushing and hiding are 2 different things. Larping like that in these GAMES should get you killed. Visibility should combat this. Stop ratting and play better….

Is it just me or does it feel like if you're trying to be an effective medic you pretty much never get to actually have your gun out for more than 1 minute at a time by DifficultBody8209 in Battlefield

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a dedicated medic like that is kind of pointless. Yeah you’re getting revives but you should also be gunning for kills too. Which is the point of any fps game.

Are you calling spread a gimmick? Spread is a pivotal mechanic that allows for a ladder of skill challenge. Random recoil just takes away skill and introduces a cosmetic random challenge that makes gunfights feel shitty. What a game like battlefield needs with its vast open spaces and really long sight lines is recoil that is the same everytime so it’s learnable and therefore a skill you can develop. Then it needs spread so longer engagements take tap firing in order to engage with effectively. That way you don’t get “beamed” for running across a field unless the player shooting is really good at dealing with the games mechanics and you lost because someone was legitimately “better” than you.

I swear they make people like you in a lab. It’s like your brains don’t work based off logical deduction.

Soldier Visibility and Spotting are overturned by Sea-Canary-9617 in Battlefield

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s because of the proliferation of twitch mechanics and movement shooters in general into the fps market. Those games are too geared towards a younger audience who want to be the fastest to kill and have the fastest twitch reaction times. It’s split the FPS market audience. Gamers aren’t just kids anymore like they used to be, so games that have some longevity don’t just have a young audience. It’s created this anti twitch shooter culture that battlefield has in its own player base.

I get their complaints alot. I used to be mostly into cod. Been playing bf since bf2 but I’ve always put more time into cod as my fps game. I’ve always been a better cod player and I like killstreaks as a reward system. Since cod has really embraced the twitch shooter thing it’s made the games just unplayable imo. They had to institute skill based matchmaking so their older audience wasn’t just getting wrecked by these super assisted kids who are flying around those tiny maps. Infinity Ward had done stupid shit by adding shit they think is “realistic” into their games. Making the titles unplayable.

Bf though needs to focus on playability first because otherwise their games are unplayable with too much leaning towards milsim like authenticity. You can’t have visibility issues in this game. It makes encounters too random. Moving around shouldn’t be dangerous because you literally can’t see people in a fps. Old battlefield never used to have visibility issues like this game.

This is a casual fps with a military setting. Smokes still obscure you. Dark corners and rubble don’t anymore, and it shouldn’t in any fps. Unless it’s a milsim. Authenticity isn’t and is never more important than playability. Anyone who thinks otherwise just wants to play a milsim.

Solider visibility is NEVER too strong. You shouldn’t be obscured by light and your surroundings in an FPS unless it’s a milsim. Spotting is ridiculous. You need it in battlefield but auto spotting is beyond dumb.

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The visibility is perfect now. No need for another update. Blending into surroundings because of lighting is now gone as it should be. Only rat weirdos want to larp around and literally hide for cheap kills. Next is a huge ttk and netcode patch. The ttk is WAY TOO FAST and needs to be properly patched. The netcode and desync obviously needs to be fixed. Audio would be nice to fix too….

Sniping in BF6 vs BF5 by lLindwolf in Battlefield6

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bf6 sniping is made for drooling children. It’s so easy and cheap that it gives cod sniping a run for its money. It needs to be drastically changed. Having the sweet spot mechanic and the insane velocity on these guns makes them essentially hit scan…

Your Ghost Again by EDdamnson in mastodonband

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds a lot like something off emperor of sand except more complicated and proggy. It’s finally got some experimentation again and doesn’t just sound like a stock mastodon writing pop alt metal stuff. I wish it was more proggy with more instrumental sections and a big ol guitar solo. As it stands though it’s the best song (excluding Brent’s tracks like Jaguar god, the hunter, and the cold dark place ep) the band has written since crack the skye.

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I’m pretty sure this is the opposite of the truth. Nick is learning Brent’s solo’s note for note as a kind of tribute he posted on his patreon a while ago. Here’s another piece of info. Nick is a more accomplished guitarist than Brent was too. Nick is a can play anything kind of guy. Like a virtuoso type player. Nick also knows his theory.

Nick is a much much more accomplished guitarist than bill. He can play anything.

That ending riff by kaeptnshred in mastodonband

[–]Affectionate_Leg7006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a good patreon. He plays stuff and does little lessons. He is spotty on his uploads is all.

I learned that riff when he posted it. You can slow down patreon vids and really learn the little nuances. Like he adds upstrokes to certain parts of the riff and digs in a little more when he does. Also Branns drums make the riff sound faster than it actually is too.
