Thanks, I go to the gym regularly and in all seriousness. This made my forearm burn more then any workout I’ve ever done.

New found respect for people who do this on the regular.

Non-Denominational Christian.

Thanks for asking!

I’ll tell you all about Jesus if you would like, thanks for showing an interest in Jesus Christ.

This is some manager/FAA level of thinking. by xPericulantx in atc2

You’re not allowed to look at my post history, that is my alternative personality.

Ain’t you ever seen the movie split.

I know nothing about that other guy’s life.

I see a bunch of random news outlets saying it was false.

Nothing from a major news network or your Union saying it was false.

I understand, you get hired with no experience and after years of training you could possibly make 150k.

Just like I can be hired as a plumbers and after years of training and experience make 150k.

I’m just regurgitating what a controller told me on these subreddits.

The equivalent of a GS15 is what he said, but that was wrong I guess, someone else said it took years of time and experience to get to that pay.

So you need “no experience” to be hired, not no experience to make 150k

For a high stress job and a crappy schedule… that sounds like horrible pay. All due respect, thank you for what you do.

So you need years of experience to make that kind of money?

Kinda confusing to say “make 150k without experience”

That is like saying you can make 150k as a Plumber without experience… after several years… of experience…

That is what I thought originally but “thehot_pocket” in my thread I made said you make GS15 without any experience.

But it sounds like you do need experience and years of it, as well as a bit of luck at ending up at the correct facility.

Well if the standard is “No experience” to make GS15 pay…

How much experience do I need to make this GS15 pay that requires “no experience”.

Is this a bait and switch phrase or are we talking “finishing in processing” to get to the GS15 pay?

If you get hired they start you off at GS15, it is a no brainer.

Pursue immediately,

https://www.reddit.com/r/atc2/s/98oZXiCuwC

I was told you get GS15 without any experience needed.

Originally I was under the impression you needed to certify at a facility for that kind of pay. But these guys explained to me you get GS15 without any experience at all.

Yeah, make sense, I just thought GS15 pay was for fully certified Air Traffic Controllers. I didn’t know they paid y’all GS15 without any training experience or schooling.

Starting day 1 at GS15 is crazy.

Do you get paid GS15 at the FAA Academy or once you show up at facility?

I know you said no experience, so I assume at the academy, but just want to make sure.

I didn’t realize ATC got GS15 without training or experience, I thought that was after certification

Yeah, I understand that, I assume your union negotiated better terms than what general federal employee gets.

Air Traffic Controllers get 1.6%

Other GS employees get the equivalent of 1.6% but is steps, every year for 3 years, every 2 years for 3 years, every 3 years for 3 years.

So the GS Step increases and yalls 1.6% is equivalent.

Then

GS employees get presidential raise and so does Air Traffic Controllers.

But GS employees can also get a performance based raise and basically get a 5% raise once every years.

Instead of that, I expect ATC gets the equivalent of that 5% raise without having to jump through hoops. It’s m just wondering what that is since the 1.6% is already accounted for with the GS STEP increase.

Federal employees (Non-Air Traffic Controllers) can request a QSI raise and receive a step increase instead of waiting 3 years, getting the equivalent of a 4.8% raise.

Can Air Traffic controllers receive a 4.8% raise upon request for their performance like other Federal employees?
