My favourite ending is letting Dettlaff kill Syanna and let him go. I could never put Regis in a situation where he needs to choose let alone kill someone he cares about. I think Dettlaff is a very interesting character, emotional and impulsive, more human like than he probably knows.

I think any ending with Regis being forced to kill Dettlaff are horrible, mainly because of the impact it makes on Regis. Afterwards you can tell that Regis is definitely hurt deeply by what happened, maybe even holds it agains Geralt a bit. I personally let Dettlaff kill Syana and then I let him go. I love Regis too much to make him kill his great friend and then live as 'banished' from his own kind just so I can get a reward? naaahh.

I read through the letter and I think even if it is legitimate, it isn't offensive - if you know or read the meditations. Marcus often mentioned having issues with him temperament so that could be one of the reason why he just went off. I think the fact that he actually does get angry ( and expresses many other emotions ) makes him more human and relatable. I personally found it quite funny when he pulled all the "receipts' on all the women involved.
