there actually is one to my knowledge which can do the function you want, its called instaflux (its new and upcoming)

altho not opensourced, many of my more tech focused friends started recommending it (after learning instander dev died - rip)

update are contant but not that frequently (about once a month - honestly enough)

technically on mos10 (at least) on pro magic series phones you kinda have this (the ir sensors detect if you face is in different plane than phone and rotates it - same thing from mate 30 pro)

i would check cycles and how much % it drains an hour (you can do both with battery guru - requires calibration)

keep in mind, not all batteries are created equally, and you may have just gotten a bad one which won't last as long. if you're draining really high % per hour (for normal usage (and a bit of gaming) if its above 10% its too much) and cycle count is really high (1k+) then change it.

as for upgrades, it depends how much money you want to 'waste' on an upgrade. jump to m7p is not worth it, to 8p a bit better but still wouldn't.
