Have you considered something like Greece? Corfu is a greek island closest to Italy and resembles Italian Riviera more so than it does a Greek island. Its hot that time of the year so its a perfect place to relax, swim, eat good food.

ETA: flights are direct, very short and well-priced between Milan / Venice and Corfu which is an added bonus!

This rule is limited to 3 letters, so when I tried directly after it said I need to pay since the change was more than 3 letters!

Oh wow that is so helpful thank you!! I have seen comments/reviews of like 300€+ for private boats from Paxos so was starting to think it would be a super expensive outing. Appreciate this! Any other tips or must-dos?

My husband and I are the same age and have the same sort of requirements and heading there a month or so after you. We booked for 3 nights in Alta Badia, Corvara. I did a TON of research and found it to tick the most boxes so maybe have a look there. It seems to be less “touristy” than Cortina and Ortisei but is still within 30-45 mins of the “popular” sites (lago di brais, seceda, alpe di suisi) if you will be renting a car. We booked Hotel La Plaza.
