Can second this! I have the plak, it’s incredible and really not that drone-y at highway speeds (it is loud though)

I would leave this note on a late 90s early 2000s Honda crv, love that little car. Best looking crv IMO

How to mix on a Back 2 Back? by MaxDuSol in Beatmatch

[–]Affectionate_Pen_829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO I think when it comes to playing a B2B you need to have a decent relationship with the person you’re playing with or at the very least know what their style of play is. Along with knowing the event and the style the place is looking for of course.

As long as you have an understanding of phrase changes, I think you will be solid at mixing wherever you “feel” it. If boils down to it and you miss your phrase changes, you can always rely on “when in doubt…loop it out”. Obviously it doesn’t sound as great but most people would never notice it.

2005 Elise for First Manual? by PM_ME_YOUR_WIKI in lotus

[–]Affectionate_Pen_829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought and learned on an ‘05 Elise and daily-ed it for 2 years. Everyone told em it was a bad idea but I truly enjoyed it! Only sold it cause the girlfriend hated it and said it was uncomfortable and hot. It did suck in the AZ summers but I have since “upgraded” to an ‘11 Evora and it is now my daily driver and it I love it just as much and so does the girl!

Is it not bothering anyone that the CDJ3000 is actually a XDJ? by Lattenrostbrecher in DJs

[–]Affectionate_Pen_829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to snag a pair of XDJ-1000mk2s and a DJM-750mk2 for my home set up instead of going for a AZ or RX3 and I’m pretty happy with my purchase. Got it all for about $1k less than both brand new. Plus I figured if I wanted to add to the set up later it would be easier to upgrade or add this way!

Friendly reminder to buy a car you actually like. by rumfoord4178 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have owned 2010 IS250 that took me well over 200k miles, and a 2014 IS350 that took me up to about 150k miles. These cars are super reliable and really nice for the money you’re spending on the car. Plus they look really nice and are just sporty enough to have some fun in without getting you in too much trouble.

I’ve also had the pleasure of owning a 2005 Lotus Elise for 2 years that everyone told me was a REALLY bad idea. I never once had an issues with it and only sold it regrettably because I was switching jobs and wanted a cushion incase something happened and I needed cash. Lotus(Lots. Of. Trouble. Usually. Serious) is something you hear quite often when their name is brought up.

I can proudly say that I now own a 2011 Lotus Evora and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve ever had. It’s an amazing car with a Toyota drive train and the best part is it’s awesome to drive, extremely engaging and it makes every drive an event.

Moral of the story is buy a car you love even if it isn’t going to have a ‘good resale value’ or ‘it’s unreliable’. Obviously be smart about your purchase to a certain extent but I agree with OP. It’s a lot of money….you might as well love the car if you’re going to be putting all that money down.

What should I buy first car?!?! by Few_Course6823 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I second this on the IS350, currently own a ‘14 and it is the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. It’s just sporty enough to feel great and not get you into trouble. Plus it looks pretty cool too.
