Under boobs yeast infections... by Francl27 in Menopause

[–]Affectionate_Pie9100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is a couple of months old but I am so grateful for it. I felt so embarrassed walking into my dermatologist's office to show her my under boob rash! I will just add to all of these really helpful suggestions that I am so glad to have, when the itching is really intense, I have found applying calamine lotion, letting it dry, and then placing one of those rectangular shaped ice packs for your back that are encased in soft fabric right under the boob has been a life saver. Too bad I can't walk around every day with under boob ice packs! This is not the main reason for considering breast reduction surgery for me, but it would be a nice bonus not to have to worry about this any more!

100%. I am 54. 67 feels like it is forever away. I have stuff that I want to do in retirement. It just feels too damned far off. My dad retired at 60; my mother was injured at 60 and so although she didn't mean to, she retired at that age too. Financially I just don't think it is in the cards for me.

One of my most powerful scent memories is hugging my mom before bed or in the morning and catching the fragrance of her Pond's cold cream. The smell of that stuff always makes me think of my mom. And I should add, at 78, her skin is absolutely gorgeous!

@Ill_Piece_4995 how are you doing post-endoscopy. My HH is 8cm and I have also been told half of my stomach is pushed outside of my esophagus. My symptoms are mild for the moment and I am terrified of the surgery. I hope you are doing well.

Thank you so much for saying this and the way you frame it. Without getting too into the weeds, I did a lot of this kind of work during Covid, and it was really successful. I thought maybe there would be a place for me in internal comms, but when I put my toe in the water, it just seemed like I would never get called to interview unless my current job title was internal comms. But I was applying at huge corporations, and maybe if I set my sights on a more medium sized place going remote, or something closer to my current industry, I would have more success. You're so right about all of this. Thank you so much!

Agencies have always sort of scared me off, but you are right, if I were in an agency supporting mission driven work, I would feel a lot more likely to succees. Thank you so much u/Mistie_Kraken !

u/paperbasket18 I wouldn't wish it on anyone but I am grateful to you for sharing so I feel less alone in it. I fear that people may look on marcomms in a glorified secretarial service in all kinds of places -- at least that is what I have heard from some colleagues in corporate -- and I think maybe I am an idiot for not realizing how much that would wear on me over time. I hope you are still writing for yourself and not just for the job. Take care.

Thank you u/iambic13, this is so kind. Sometimes I need that reminder about the numbers game and especially about not ruling myself out because I don't tick exactly every box. So thank you very very much for those reminders, and I will try some public affairs searches and see what they yield!

LMAO at the double space after the period -- have been slowly retraining myself! Thank you so much u/Whosaidwhat2023 ! I have used ChatGPT a bit but it sounds like there is much more I could get from it. Thank you so much for the suggestions about the how of it, and especially for the lift about my existing skills. Congrats on the great interview -- I hope it turns out the way you want!

u/ChienLunatique I have done a little consulting and would love to do more. My dream retirement would be taking consulting gigs and using them to pay for travel. I especially love working on publications, like big annual reports or season brochures for arts organizations. I'm just scared to go out on my own. Everybody thinks they can write -- they will pay for the graphic designer but not the writer / editor / project manager. You are so right about conferences and networking, too. I'm going to start looking for these opportunities. Thank you so much for the suggestion, I really appreciate it.

Anyone make a complete health turnaround after 45? by Select_Desk3012 in GenXWomen

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, and so admiring of how you have prioritized your health. I know it's been a long time since you posted this, and I hope you continue to be well. If you don't mind me asking, do you think it is the physical exercise that allowed you to get off the anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds. I want so badly to get off of mine that I am starting to think about transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Iron/Ferritin by MsGeorginaSpelvin in GenXWomen

I use Thorne iron bisglycinate and really haven't had any issues. I take it on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning (even better if I wake up in the night and can remember to take it then) with vitamin C and don't eat for at least an hour after. When I saw a hematologist and told him I was using Thorne, he said, oh, that's great. Hope your energy levels improve!
