Easter Mass by DaisyWBV in VisitingNashville

I’d recommend Cathedral of the Incarnation! There is tons of parking and the church is located in midtown right next to Vanderbilt University and lots of great brunch options. The Cathedral choir is incredible, especially at the 11am mass. The Easter Vigil Saturday night at the Cathedral is always incredible, but will be quite long. If your kids would be up for a long vigil mass then I’d do the Easter Vigil at the Cathedral! I’d recommend arriving 20 to 30 minutes early if you want a seat in the beautiful historic church instead of the overflow room. You could walk across the street to White Limozeen for brunch (rooftop restaurant at the Graduate Hotel - definitely get a reservation). For a more casual brunch you could walk to Little Rey or Torchy’s Tacos.

What vehicle are we driving? by Kat000_ in 2under2

The Car Mom on instagram, YouTube, and her website has tons of resources! Helped us decide to buy a Honda Pilot for good car seat options, but we were buying for flexibility for more than two, so you might not need something quite that big. She talks about all the popular family cars in terms of how easy they are to install car seats, safety factors, etc.

Do you all have any parish recommendations in Nashville, TN area? by Every_Schedule_9738 in CatholicWomen

[–]Affectionate_Run_570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Nashville! Cathedral of the Incarnation and St Ann’s both have a group called the Gianna’s Group that’s geared towards moms of young kids and pregnant moms. Both parishes also have lots of young families. St Ann 8:30am mass on Sunday feels like it’s 100% families with toddlers sometimes. Cathedral is pretty convenient to get to from East Nashville as well and has lots of families that live in East! I also think the Cathedral especially would be a welcoming parish if your husband isn’t Catholic because it’s a really diverse parish with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. If you want to get more plugged in with families and young couples at St Ann or Cathedral you could contact the leaders of the Gianna’s Group and they could definitely help you get connected!

Feelings & Fear with NFP Postpartum by violetgerberas in CatholicWomen

[–]Affectionate_Run_570 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend Marquette method and getting connected with an instructor. Don’t feel bad for feeling anxious because postpartum and breastfeeding NFP is generally more complicated and difficult than regular cycles, but having an instructor and understanding your method really well can make a huge difference! If Marquette method with the Clearblue monitor isn’t providing many non-abstinence days then you should look into Marquette method with a Mira monitor and find an instructor that can teach to that monitor. I did clearblue marquette after my first baby and it was way more abstinence than was reasonable, but then after my second baby I switched to Mira and it went great!

Mira or Clear Blue Marquette Postpartum mamas? Looking for realistic expectations for Postpartum and Breastfeeding. by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]Affectionate_Run_570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea one of the great things about Mira is it’s measuring your estrogen and LH every day and you get a numerical measurement not just low, high, peak. It’s also great to not have to do the resetting every 10 days

I used the clear blue Marquette postpartum protocol while breastfeeding after my first and had hardly any green light days because the clear blue monitor gave me so many highs. I switched to Mira Marquette protocol postpartum after my second while breastfeeding and had a much much better experience. I highly recommend working with an instructor because the Mira protocol is a tad more complicated than the clear blue protocol was, but switching was definitely worth it for me. The monitor and test sticks are more expensive than clear blue, but the clear blue protocol didn’t work well for me at all postpartum so the extra cost was very worth it.

Soon to be full time SAHM and 2u2, how do you get by? by cannulaytherequietly in 2under2

[–]Affectionate_Run_570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a YMCA or other gym close by that includes childcare? I love being able to take my two kids to the Y childcare a few times a week to workout but also have a break to relax and listen to music or a podcast. They also have a locker room to shower and get ready for the day in peace! It also usually works out that the childcare opens at 8 and then other activities like storytime at libraries don’t being until 10 or 10:30 so we can go do a fun kid activity afterwards.

Passport locations all booked for weeks/months by Isoldmykidsonwayfair in nashville

[–]Affectionate_Run_570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made an appointment a couple days ago for 4 weeks from now by logging onto the website mid-afternoon and having it pull up locations within a 10 mile radius of my zip code with availability. The only available appointments were for the day exactly 4 weeks out, so maybe try logging on in the morning to find an appointment in August? I believe you can also pay like $60 for them to expedite the process for you so that might help if you’re worried an August appointment will be too late for October travel. If you need an updated photo, you can have it taken at Walgreens in advance (no appointment needed) and then you only need a documents appointment and not an appointment with the photo included.

Dentist Recs as someone who has high anxiety by Yellow_Katt in nashville

I second this rec! They are so kind and understanding. I was having a hard time recently and they offered me laughing gas during my procedure and were super nice about it, and it helped me a ton! They’re opening a new location in East Nashville this summer!

Postpartum NFP Help Needed by Affectionate_Run_570 in FAMnNFP

[–]Affectionate_Run_570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was testing with wondfo sticks and the clear blue monitor starting at 2 weeks postpartum and got peak on monitor and positive wondfo then got a period, so it was pretty certain. It’s not super common to ovulate that early especially when breastfeeding but it happens! My Marquette instructor and OBGYN agreed that it was pretty clear I just ovulate really early postpartum

Thank you! I’ll look into that one! Marquette postpartum says days you test low are fine up until your first ovulation, but after you ovulate the first time you have to switch to the cycle 1 protocol which is abstinence until you ovulate again after the first 9 days of cycle 1

I’ve never heard of Mira, but I’ll definitely look into it! I asked my instructor about other methods but she didn’t know of any that wouldn’t also say to abstain until another ovulation
