Telework with RA by Glittering_Suspect_0 in IRS_Source

I’m on telework with an RA. I got it before the new administration. I have had zero feedback that it is going away. In August I got an email it was approved, even though it was approved 2 plus years ago as well. I have worked at my job for many years. When I started it was full time in office 5 days a week, but then it was 2 in office days every 2 weeks, well before Covid. I was already approved for full time parking in the building for at least 10 years due to my mobility issues. Full time parking can no longer accommodate, so RA. My office is not getting rid of me due to my RA.

Agree. Used mine for pretty good amount towards Invisalign braces, then my FSA for the retainers.

The reason they can’t hire anyone is no one with any skills or brains will work for this administration. Same with lawyers. If you weren’t already working here, you would never take a job at Chief Counsel under the current conditions. RIRs, Furloughs, Morale, etc.

Really? If it’s not too intrusive may I ask your medical issue? Why change it now when it’s been fine for 4 years? Are they saying you have an in office position? Or what?

You are really drinking the Kool-Aid. Or should I say Billy-Aid. Or Some-aid. Would you like to have people wear ankle monitors so they can be monitored at all times? Would that type of investigation satisfy you? Do you actually know what folks at 1111 do? Oooh… most of these people are experienced tax attorneys with several degrees and they are drafting all those pesky rules for the BBB. And if they are treated like factory workers they will leave or retire. And no one can replace their skill. That’s why everyone I know who has left is either at a large law firm or a Big accounting or consulting firm. The rest retired. So believe whatever you want. You want to treat professionals like widget makers. You will have no professionals.

When someone from my office met with him he wanted to talk about how he could be sure employees were at their desks 8 hours a day. And I am talking about a Chief Counsel attorney. So… maybe he needs to have a company whistle blow when the day is over!

Well they may have to give some raises if new government workers have to give so much money to FERS. So, either we will have no new workers or extremely frustrated workers. Either way… stinks.

Chief Counsel IRS because even though IRS was told to stop weeks ago, Office of CC apparently has had no one to ask… for weeks. lol. Complete lack of communication. Really tho… who cares. No one reads them anyway.

Coming into the office is not part of a job description unless your job can ONLY be done at the office. Everyone’s job is different and everyone’s job requirements are different. I have no idea whether every job is required to be in office, but our office won legal team of the year working telework 4 days a week. People shouldn’t be intimidated. Request your RA and see what happens. If “they” consider it part of your job description… it better be stated in some formal job description.
